Snow White and the Huntsman Blue Ray Giveaway Package

I am super excited about the upcoming release of Snow White and the Huntsman! I know there are people out there right now hating on a certain someone, but personally? I want to see the movie in the worst way! It is just the type of "story" line that I know I can really get into. Since I'm also the type of gal to prefer watching while lounging on my sofa in my comfy pajamas, I've had to count down the days to the video release.

I will have to go and buy my own copy, because I can't enter my own giveaways (darnit!) but one of you lucky readers will be getting an awesome prize package in the mail.

First some cinematic details:

Straight Shooters: Featuring Sam Claflin in Snow White and the Huntsman

Thanks to characters like William (Sam Claflin) in Snow White and the Huntsman (premiering on Blu-ray Sept. 11), Hawkeye in The Avengers and Katniss The Hunger Games, archery has been increasing in popularity.  Take a look at these recent cinematic archers that join William in his love of the bow and arrow.

Hawkeye, The Avengers

Clint Barton, AKA “Hawkeye,” has no superhuman powers like his Avengers teammate, Captain America or superior technology like Ironman, but he is unbeatable in combat and a master archer to boot. And his arrows aren’t just ordinary arrows. Among them are tricksters with flares, explosives, electrical discharge, suction cups, smoke bombs, boomerangs and more.

Legolas, Lord of the Rings

Legolas, an elf of the Woodland Realm and one of nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring, might be the quickest and fastest archer the big screen has ever seen. Of course, while his keen eyes, ears and fighting skills are of immense use to the Fellowship, his friendship and loyalty make him even more important.

Katniss Everdeen, The Hunger Games

Katniss hails from District 12, a coal-mining district that is the poorest district in the dystopian fictional nation of Panem. Outside the district’s borders, Katniss and her best friend, Gale, hone their hunting skills to keep their families fed. Her top-notch skill and determination are ultimately what gets her through the Hunger Games as a victor.

Robin Hood

Who is more famous for perfect archery skills than Robin Hood? Historically, his motto of robbing the rich to give to the poor is as synonymous to him as his precise aim with a bow and arrow. His story has been told in over a dozen television and film incarnations starring the likes of Douglas Fairbanks, Errol Flynn, Cary Elwes, Russell Crowe and more.

Neytiri, Avatar

As the daughter of Eytukan, the leader of the Omaticaya, it is not surprising that Neytiri knows how to use a bow and arrow.  She begrudgingly takes on educating Jake Sully after her mother, a spiritual leader, deems him worthy. And even though she at first thinks him a fool, she eventually falls for him and together, they save Pandora from a human threat.

William, Snow White and the Huntsman

William, son of Duke Hammond, is traumatized as a child when he is unable to rescue Snow White from the evil queen and her maniacal brother.  But as an adult – now an expert bowman – he is able to infiltrate a group of henchmen trying to find Snow White, who’s escaped, so he can successfully rescue her and help her reclaim the throne that is rightfully hers.

All awesome flicks right? Okay, now you are dying to know about the SWATH prize pack:

Included is one BluRay of Snow White & the Huntsman, 1 mirrored girl’s key chain, 1 bottle opener guy’s key chain and 1 tattoo sheet. US only, must be 18+ to enter. Ends on the release date 9/11

Simple Green Laundry Detergent Review & Giveaway

I've brought you Simple Green product reviews in the past and always thoroughly enjoyed working with them, the are a fantastic company that I am proud to stand behind them and announce to the world (errr, those of you who read my blog) that their products not only work, but work well. They care about their employees, their consumers, the environment and pets which you can read more about in my past reviews; Pet Stain & OdorHousehold Products, Lemon Scent Cleaner, and All Purpose Cleaner (<---one of my faves!!!).

Now I had been hearing rumors that there was going to be a big old surprise new product and it's finally here! The Simple Green Laundry detergent! I couldn't wait to get my paws on it and try it out. I figured that as well as all the other cleaning products work, this was going to also be a winner.

Now I'm sure that some people are thinking that a company that manufactures and distributes household cleaning products might not be the best to market laundry soap, that it might be harsh on the skin. Let me just clear that up right out of the gate. Simple Green Laundry is free and clear of all dyes and fragrances. It contains no chlorine, phosphates, allergens or asthmagens. It is also orally non toxic and biodegradable. Simple Green Laundry is naturally derived and even carries the USDA Bio Based Certification. How many detergents out there can top that?

It is a super concentrated formula and one bottle will do 100 he loads or approximately 66 regular loads. It can be used in front loading or top loading machines and the inside of the cap is actually marked for different machines, taking the guess work out of the equation.

We have been using the Simple Green Laundry for several weeks now and I am very pleased with the results. Hubs has horribly sensitive skin and he has actually been use less cortisone cream than normal, so I'd say the detergent is definitely agreeing with him. Our clothing has been coming out of the laundry clean, fresh and mostly stain free (there are stains God could not remove, trust me)-- without pre-treating. The detergent itself is clear and a medium viscosity and I like knowing that strange color dyes haven't been used to "pretty" it up, it just seems cleaner somehow!

Another little factoid, most of my other detergent caps get that funny gunky line stuck to them after a couple uses, you know what I mean? There has been zero gunky build up on this bottle-- now I'm not a scientist, but my guess would be that if it builds up on a bottle it can build up in your clothing so I feel safer with this detergent!

BUY IT: Right now you can get the 100oz bottle of Simple Green Laundry online at and through August 31st you can get FREE shipping (huge savings!) by entering BLOG2012 at checkout. (Simple Green Laundry must be part of your purchase to receive free shipping)

WIN IT: One reader will win a 100 oz bottle (the same as I received) Must be at least 18 and have a US mailing address, no PO boxes. (stuffed animal NOT included) Please use the Rafflecopter form to enter.

Wrapping up Week 7 on Nutrisystem #NSNation

Yesterday was officially the last day of week seven on Nutrisystem. Can I get a woo hoo or your go girl?  My pants have been pretty saggy baggy and mostly only staying up with a belt. I held out as long as I could but finally gave in this weekend and bought two new pairs of jeans. Not that I didn't want to buy them, it's just that I am cheap frugal and since I plan on losing more weight I didn't want to waste money.

I grabbed a couple of pairs in a size smaller and then for the heck of it grabbed a pair 2 sizes smaller and hit the dressing cubicle. I'm pretty sure I scared the snot out of the little girl trying on school clothes in the one next to me when I realized that I am now 2 freakin sizes smaller!

In light of that, I thought I'd do a little show and tell this week. Except I forgot my new pants are in the washer *sigh* so you just get to see the old pants. I was wearing these pants at the start of the summer, now:

those are capri pants people, they are just so big they've fallen to the floor!

*I would also like to mention I do have hips and a shape, nor do I wear my shirt stuffed into my pants like that normally--just trying to show the waist band not be topless!

Weight this week is 177.6! 2.3 pounds last week and a total of 16 inches over the past 7 weeks. I'd love to hit 169 before vacation, but that is a bit unrealistic, so I'm amending that goal to 174. Pretty sure I can do it, especially since I have been dragging my tired butt onto the evil elliptical.

Want to lose weight and get healthy on Nutrisystem? Join today by calling 888-853-4689 or by visiting

Disclosure: Nutrisystem is providing their food and program to me free of charge in exchange for blogging about my experience as part of the Nutrisystem Nation Blogger Program. The opinions are my own and others experiences with Nutrisystem may vary.

EdenFantasys is Vacation Friendly

Sex toys - EdenFantasys adult toys store

Just in case you might have missed the multiple product reviews about vacation items, the numerous tweets counting down the days or the facebook status updates, I'll mention it again: I'm going on vacation!!!!

This is the first time in six years we've been able to take time away, we've saved and scrimped and are going to be gone for a glorious six days. I can't wait and it's in two weeks, so since I'm a busy gal at the best of times I am already making lists of what to bring. We have a sweet cabin booked in the Smoky Mountains and we are driving, so I can a)bring more luggage and b)don't have to worry about some creep that lives in his moms basement pawing through my bags at the airport.

Naturally it dawned on my that I may want to pack some sex toys. Or get some new ones. Either way. So I hit up my favorite shop for adult sex toys, EdenFantasys. I found an adorable pink lock box to pack my favorites in:
Lockable Sex Toy Case
Isn't that the cutest? For $23.99 I can pack a couple favorites and even if a maid happens to see it, she won't know what is in it AND it locks!

Then I got to thinking, jacuzzi tub! I'm going to need some bath items, right?
Bellina Box
Decadent, in a travel box, contains a "pouf" and has everything I need to pamper myself! Win!
The Getaway Kit
Massage oil, candle, lube and more. what else could I ask for? FYI, I may not even need to leave the cabin!

Favor Days, Unique Favors

I'm writing this a public service announcement to those of you, who like me, were not given a creative bone when when they were made! I never had a wedding shower, because I eloped and never got to have a baby shower because I just can't seem to get pregnant. So I never had all those cutesy little shower / wedding favors. Most days I'm okay with that. However I have a best friend getting married in the spring and a pregnant sister-in-law. That means I need to come up with some party favors, stat.

I know there are gazillions of people out there who would be clapping their hands in glee and pulling boxes of cute craftsy stuff from their supply closet. I tried, but the only thing I found in my spare closet was a couple of winter coats, an iron and a large dust bunny. I can't let my best girls down so I did what any good blogger would do and hit the internet.

I found Favor Days and breathed a huge sigh of relief. I found so many great shower favors and now my biggest problem will be picking which ones to go with. I looked through the wedding favors and found so many classy ideas, everything from fairytale candles to coasters and porcelain gift boxes. I picked out some that I think are perfect for her and we've narrowed it down.
credit Favor Days

Next up are baby shower favors. My sister-in-law is a unique person so I couldn't have anything less than unique baby shower favors for her and the little one! Favor Days has me covered in that department too! They have so many that I have been looking for a couple days just cooing over them. The puppy dog towel favors are a particular favorite of mine, but I don't think that they are her cup of tea and since she's the one giving birth.....we may be going with the "About to Hatch" ceramic baby chick salt and pepper shakers. Regardless, I know that whatever we finally chose will be a hit.

I really like that Favor Days has such a variety and a great price range to meet any budget. Plus you know your guests will be taking something home that won't get tossed in a junk drawer (who eats those weird candy covered nuts people wrap in nets anyways?)

Combat Max Ant Killer, Review & Giveaway

Have I mentioned that I hate, loathe, despise and in general am creaped out by bugs? I don't know why, as a kid they never bothered me, now just looking at the box I received my Combat kit in that had little printed ants on it made me need to take a shower. Which is bad, I mean bugs are everywhere. Especially when you live in an older house, which I do. My grandparents built this house and growing up I remember every year during the summer the ants would come in through one corner of the kitchen (and my Grandmother was WAY better of a housekeeper than moi!)

They must have relocated (the ants) because this year they were hitting our back porch -- it's all enclosed and finished, just on a cement pad and not heated. I spend quite a bit of time out there in the summer and am not a fan of crawlies, besides, what if they hitchhike into the house? We've tried different things, including me freaking the heck out but none of them really helped for more than a couple days then the little buggers would be back.

We received the Combat Source Kill Max for ants and I got right to business reading the instructions and putting it out. Over all it was very easy to do and I noticed a reduction in numbers right away. Even better, they are all gone at this point and haven't come back! That makes Carrie very, very happy. It makes Mr. Carries Rambles happy because Carrie shuts up and quits eagle eyeing every dot that moves.

Here are the technical details:
**these are not safe for pets or children**

Combat Source Kill Max Ant Gel
--This product contains Fipronil, which is a fast active ingredient, yet still slow enough for the foraging ants to return to the colony and feed the bait to larvae and queens. this ensures that entire colony is killed through the Domino Effect
  • First specially formulated ant gel
  • Preferred food form for ants
  • fast killing formula
  • works within hours and up to 1 month
  • kills entire colony
To use, take the specially filled plunger (which is awesome! pre-filled so you don't get it on your hands, plus super accurate distribution) place gel next to ant nest or in areas of suspected ant activity. You can even use it for a spot or crack/crevice treatment. Good places are in cupboards where the plumbing comes in, window ledges, under appliances-- all places my animals can't get into.

I place some drops on the window ledges, the top of the door frame and on a table I always saw ants on. Bingo! They were all over the drops like a starving person in an all you can eat buffet! (creepy to watch, but exciting too!)

Combat Source Kill Max Ant Bait
This particular product contains an insecticide which kills most ants that are commonly found in homes. The ants carry the bait back to the colony and effectively destroy them from within. It will even kill ants outside your home (adjacent too--not in your neighbors house, lol!)

  • Kills ants without messy residue and without insecticide odors
  • quick kill formula
  • destroys queen and entire colony
  •  long lasting ant killing power
  • child resistant
First, it is child resistant--not child proof. You shouldn't let your pet or child play with the bait traps. I like this because it is less messy. I can leave the traps out and not worry about accidentally sticking my hand in the gel (done that) or I can stick them under the sink or in the basement rafters and leave them there, no worries.

My final opinion on the products is that Combat knows how to get rid of ants! You can purchase Combat Max at most major retailers and you can score a $1 off Combat coupon by signing up for the newsletter.

Combat Bug-Free Backyard Bash
It's nearing the end of summer and who wouldn't love $1000 to throw their very own Bug Free Backyard Bash? All you have to do is follow the link Combat Backyard Bash, watch the short 90sec video and enter to win (and of course send me an invite if you do win!) Plus it will score you an extra entry in my giveaway!

Win It!
One lucky Carries Rambles reader is going to receive the same kit I did, one box each of the Gel & Bait. Please use the Rafflecopter form to enter. US only, must be at least 18 to enter.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Combat provided me a free sample of their Ant Bait and Gel so  I could review them. However, all of the opinions expressed here are my own.

Are You in Touch, Body & Soul?

I take my duties as a Sexpert for Cal Exotics very seriously, I mean I know that you wait anxiously every month to see what tips I will be bringing to you! Also, I get a special badge just because I'm so cool:

California Exotic Novelties has some of the latest and greatest toys on the market, for both men and women. The new Body & Soul line has some funky, futuristic and amazing toys, I'm sure you are going to want to take a peak at these!

Introducing the Body & Soul Remote II by CalExotics:

MSRP $85.99
First lets get the technical specs out of the way:
  • 1.5” x .25”/3.75 cm x .75 cm (small bullet)
  • 2.5” x 1.25”/6.25 cm x 3.25 cm (large bullet)
  • Great for couples or solo play
  • Gold Standard, easy to read LED display
  • Easy to use controls that turn off on any function
  • Side switch travel lock
  • Bullets sized for pleasure

  • ABS with Metallic Plating/PU Cote
  • 26’/8 m range
  • Batteries included (2-N, 1-12V)
  • EC-R+TTE certificate included
Right out of the box I was enchanted  with this little gadget. The blue color is my favorite so that helped but the almost satin like texture was my first clue that this wasn't a second rate toy. It's so smooth and satiny to the touch that you just know it will feel amazing in your most sensitive areas.

I was really excited about the concept behind this toy but a little unsure if it would perform as I hoped it would. In my experience, wires and remotes just don't seem to deliver when it comes to sex toys. In my opinion, while a gadget like this can be used for solo or couple play, I prefer it for couple play (I'm not quite so lazy I need a remote for a bullet). I inserted the batteries and and naturally vroommed it up on the table, just to see. Holy WOW, those little babies were vibrating across the table! When hubs got home I made him hold them while I kept getting farther and farther away with the remote to check out the range. I went from the living room to the bedroom and they were sill communicating, I didn't try any further because really I don't plan on wearing them that far away!

Definitely a fun toy for foreplay and for couples. Ladies you can place the bullets and give your significant other the remote. Just think how fun and spontaneous this could make a movie night! You never know when he will "rev" your engine or on what setting! Loads of fun and will have you ready to go *wink*!

Bottom line, I think this toy is fabulous for newbies and veterans alike! There are so many different, fresh and fun scenarios, it is worth every penny!

My Memories Review & Giveaway

I know scrapbooking is a big thing for alot of people out there. I however, have never even glanced at the surface of said activity. 1) I have precious little spare time 2) I am WAY too disorganized and 3) really not that creative (read: at all). So when My Memories first came to me with the review thing, I was pretty much not interested, I even think I ignored the email for awhile, but because they had taken the time to write to me I felt I should take the time to read it and respond (because I loathe it when people ignore my emails). You see, I had thought that my my memories was only digital scrapbooking software.

After reading the info and cruising the My Memories Suite site late one night, I discovered something horrific--I was WRONG--I totally wanted to try this out.  You see it's not gluing crafty items into a paper book (or whatever it is you scrapbookers do--I still don't know). You can do totally cool stuff, like make blog backgrounds, headers, party invites, holiday cards and so many more things that I have yet to discover.

You can simply download the basic package to your computer and be up and running with the tons of themes already included. If you like you can visit the online store and purchase additional theme packages to install, which are all very reasonably priced. The even have a sale, clearance and dollar store sections! I've browsed a bit and found a couple cute ones, but I already have so much that just comes with the kit that I haven't been serious about shopping for more.

Downloading was easy and there are so many features built right in, I was afraid I'd be lost (like I am with photoshop--clueless!) but I have "tips" that help me out. Since I'm not one for following a tutorial or reading instructions I've been learning by trial and error and having a ton of fun discovering each new feature. Once summer is over and I go back to working less than 60 hours a week, I am going to have so much fun with this--I might just do a whole blog redesign!

Here are some screen shots of some stuff I have been playing around with:
This will look fab in an empty "doggy" frame I have!
So cute right? I have a vague idea in my mind of changing up my blog header and using actual pictures of myself and the dogs.  You can even make calenders for holidays gifts and if you are super talented to you could custom create your own book from the bottom to the top.

I'm so glad that I took the time to learn about MyMemories, it's fun, allows me to be creative and will actually encourage me to do something with the 30 kazillion pictures I take. I can't wait for some extra free time to explore what I can create in more depth.

The Malibu Blondes Treatment is said too:

Since I'm currently a dark blond with lighter blond highlights and well water can play havoc, I thought this would be a great product for me. I received one .17 oz packet in the mail to try out. I followed the instructions, washing my hair first and rinsing well before applying the treatment. I was impressed how well the crystals dissolved into a gel like foam. There was no discernible smell which is nice, I hate chemical smell products. I left it in while shaving, rinsed and towel dried. I noticed that my hair felt very soft and was extremely easy to comb through. I didn't see any significant change in color or brightness, but perhaps I would need more than one treatment.

Anyone else tried this?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Nutrisystem Week 6 #NSnation

Hi everyone! First off, I have to apologize for my non blogging status over the last week, I have some great posts and giveaways lined up for you and I'll be working to catch up this week.

I finished up week 6 of Nutrisystem and can't begin to tell you how happy I am. For the last couple of years I haven't been happy.  At my heaviest weight (last year) I was over 200lbs. I'm not sure exactly how far over, I was avoiding the scale.

I also avoided going out in public if I could help it, I live in a small town and dreaded running into people I knew. I felt like as soon as I walked away they'd be talking about how I used to 110 pounds and "wow did she get fat". I wore over sized clothing to hide my rolls. I would run if someone came near me with a camera, I'm going to have a hard time showing you before pictures (yes, I did take one, but my brilliant self took a pic of me in my underwear. I'm sure you don't want to see that)

I was depressed. I'm sure it is different for everyone, how each person perceives their own body image. Personally, I not only didn't feel attractive, I felt ugly. Which in turn made me sad, which in turn was my enabler to eat more. It was a vicious circle.

The Nutrisystem program has helped me so much in six short weeks. I'm back to feeling good about myself--I still have long way to go, but I know I will get there. Here is a screen shot of my weight chart on the Nutrisystem website, I admit I'm not that consistent logging my details, I have a paper calender hanging above my scale and my Nutrisystem food that I use to log everything daily.
Add caption
I hit the 170's and I swear I almost cried. I kept getting off the scale and getting back on! I'm looking ahead to the 160's now!

Guest Post: The Samsung Galaxy S II: The Best Bargain of a Phone

Samsung has most definitely done it again as its Samsung Galaxy S III could have never been more successful in terms of revenue and consumer reception. And now that it is the official phone of the London Olympics, a smart phone has never shone brighter. And this has significant implications on the smart phone prices that you can use to your advantage. For instance, the price of it predecessor, being almost obsolete, has drastically dropped down, which makes it an excellent bargain phone. The Samsung Galaxy S II is way ahead of its time. Despite being an older and cheaper model, it can still topple down any mid end smart phones today with its weapons.

Superior Display

The Samsung Galaxy S II became famous a year ago primarily because of its state of the art Super AMOLED screen with crisp colors, bright display, high contrast ratio and 217 pixel per inch density. Despite the screen's enormous size (for its time) Samsung has managed to keep its display sharp and colorful, a wondrous feat that cannot be said true for all phones even today.

Strong Performance

The Galaxy S II was a performance beast during its time; and it still is today. The phone can still run every app in the Android Market without breaking a sweat and remains to be a benchmark for modern smart phones, believe it or not.

Upgradable to the Latest OS

You may be turned off by the S II's age but do not make this mistake as this beast is still upgradable to the latest Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android. yes, it's that good. More than half of the phones within the price range of the Samsung Galaxy S II cannot even say the same.

Best Dollar for Dollar Value

With this kind of performance, display and feats and the phone being available on the major networks for only $99 or lower with Fly Guy's Sprint wireless deals, you are missing something big by not considering the Samsung Galaxy S II if you are looking to upgrade or sidegrade your current phone.
