OOFOS Footwear, Review & Giveaway

Right now I can just hear you thinking OOFOS? Huh? What's an OOFOS? Hold on because I am about to explain it. You know how flip flops are all the rage these days? Well for the most part they aren't great for your feet, even if they are convenient, semi comfy and cool. OOFOS are a revolutionary type of thong or slide shoe made from a visionary material called OOfoam. They have a patented foot-bed design with a unique energy absorption capabilities.

A couple facts about the unique OOfoam:
  • the technology is a combo of compound and design
  • unique DNA provides a unmatched OOFeel that is energy absorbing
  • OOFoam has tested 37% more impact absorbing than existing EVA (most common material found in footwear)
So what does that mean? What does OOfoam DO?
  • it absorbs shock to decrease pain
  • helps to reduce leg and foot fatigue
  • gives unparalleled cushioning to recharge your feet
OOFOS currently are available in the OOriginal Thong (fuchsia, tangerine, mocha and black) and the OOahh Slide (mocha and black).  When I first found out I was going to be able to review a pair I thought I would get a pair of fuchsia ones for my yard work summer shoes but then a light bulb went off. My hubby and I have a constant battle about him taking his shoes off before he comes in the house. Since all summer long he is outside in the yard or doing woodworking in the garage it drives me nuts. I tried buying him a pair of regular flip flops, but in his job he is on his feet all day in a hot kitchen and flip flops offer no support. So I gave in and let him pick a pair. He chose the OOriginal Thong in black.

I thought I'd have trouble getting him to wear them but he slipped them on right away. They fit perfect (which is always iffy when ordering shoes online, so they run true to size!!). I let him go for a couple days without saying anything, but I noticed everyday after work the first thing he would do is change his clothes and slip on his OOFOS. I finally asked him how he liked them and his ever so eloquent response was " I freaking love them, they feel like feet pillows". I have noticed he isn't rubbing his back or hobbling around as much. So they are definitely a hit, trust me, Hubs doesn't often say something is amazing. The best part to me is that they are super easy slide on and off, machine washable or heck, squirt them off with a garden hose!  I'd show you a picture of him wearing them but google might shut my blog down~~ even I don't want to see his feet.

Ecolissa Review & Giveaway

I recently discovered an online store called Ecolissa (pronounced eek-oh-LIH-suh) carries only fashionable, eco friendly and vegan woman's clothing and accessories. All these items are made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton, bamboo, soy and hemp. Many of the products are manufactured in the USA or in fair trade.

Now I know some of you may be thinking, bamboo? hemp? Oh heck no, those are some scratchy, ugly hippy type clothing. Stop. You could not be more wrong. I will admit to thinking along those same lines and have summarily been blown away by the quality of the clothing!

First let me show you some of the fabulous items you could purchase at ecolissa.
Stewart & Brown Sahara Lengthened Skirt Dress
Bottled Up Designs Teardrop Necklace in Blue
Ecoskin Avalon Top
Gorgeous, aren't they? And there are so many more to chose from, I could browse and wish list forever. As a matter of fact I did, while I was trying to decide what to pick out for my review. I eventually decided to go with practical. I really have been wanting a pair of black yoga type Capri pants and hadn't found any at the store.

I chose the Hip To Bamboo Hatha Capri pants in black. These pants have a wide waist band and a gusset (an extra breathable fabric which is sewn into the crotch area) and are tag less. There is a split on the side at knee level for ease of movement. Made of 95% Rayon from Bamboo and 5% spandex. The sizes run from XS (0-2) to XL (12-14).

Let me tell you something, if you have never owned clothing made from bamboo, you don't know what you are missing out on. It is truly the softest, silkiest feeling material I have ever owned. I adore these pants so much and think that they look so nice, I have been wearing them to work. They are so comfortable and are great for working out, but they also look so nice that you could wear them anywhere. Very well made and bamboo absorbs and evaporates sweat very efficiently and has a natural beathabilty, nor will it stick to your skin.  The only thing I would warn you about is that they appear to run large. I currently wear a size 14 pants and ordered these in the XL, they tend to fall down and I am constantly pulling them up (I refuse to stop wearing them so I'm going to try and shrink them in the dryer), so you may want to consider ordering carefully-- at least with the yoga pants, I cannot speak for all the items! I definitely will be shopping more at Ecolissa, especially since they always have a great sale section.

Dry Idea Review & Giveaway + Sweeps!

I love being a Purex Insider because I get to try new products (not just Purex detergents) and share them with my readers. This time around I received a full size bottle of Dry Idea Advanced Dry Roll on Antiperspirant.

I have a tendency to go with one brand that I know works for me, but lately I have noticed that after awhile it doesn't seem to work as well. I'm not sure if it is because my body gets used to it or what but I have been trying to find a different brand that I can switch up with but was having a hard time finding one that did a good job. Then I received my Dry Idea Advanced.  So far I am loving it. Even though it is a roll on, it drys quickly and doesn't stain my clothing or leave white marks. Best of all it really does keep me dry!

I even checked out some of the ingredients in the Dry Idea to see if I could tell what makes it different from other brands. It has a fast drying MicroCotton Formula, contains vitamin E to keep your skin soft and is even Hypo-allergenic!

The new Dry Idea Advanced is available in roll on (3.25 oz unscented, powder fresh and cotton dry), Clear Gel (3.0 oz unscented or powder fresh) and Invisible Solid (2.6 oz unscented, powder fresh and Cool Burst w/ air conditioning effect). So there is a scent and style for everyone, you don't have to go with roll on if you prefer not too. Both the roll on and gel provide 24 hours worth of odor and wetness protection while the Invisible solid offers a full 48 hours worth of protection! I'm definitely trying the solid with the 48 hours next time I hit the stores!

Here is the even better news. Dry Idea wants to reward their fans with come serious cash prizes. The have a sweepstakes right now where 10 entrants will win $50 and one entrant will win the $500 grand prize. PLUS, I am going to give THREE of my readers a coupon for a free bottle of Dry Idea Advanced, enter in the rafflecopter form below.

Incoco Nail Art Review

I have always been very lucky in the fact that my nails grow naturally long and very strong. I've never had to put on fake nails or gel tips, but sometimes when you have a super busy schedule you just don't have ton of time for making them look pretty and there is nothing I hate more than having my nails look trashy.

I used to paint them every couple of days, once they got a chip or two in them. Often I wouldn't have time until late at night, then going to bed too soon and I'd wake up with smudges or sheet lines on my nails, grrr! That is why I have been so excited since the whole nail polish strip trend started a little over  year ago. I've tried just about every brand I have come across, some work better than others, some stick better, some are prettier and some last less time than actually polishing your nails!

I recently discovered Incoco Nail Polish Strips and was sent several for review. Incoco is headquartered in New Jersey, USA where they do everything from research and development to production and packaging. Incoco began their research into non liquid nail polish in 1988 and has more than 20 years of perfecting their formula under their belts! Each 100% real nail polish strip contains a base coat, color and top coat in one. So you can get a salon quality manicure just about any where and any time!

I can't possibly list or post picture of all the selections but I can tell you that they have a spring collection, neon's, glitters, french manicures, designs and more for you to choose from.

Drama Queen

I was really very excited about receiving the French Manicure strips, I adore French Manicures but in no way are my hands steady enough to get the lines straight on my own fingers and I haven't seen nail polish strips anywhere else that offered this choice. I chose the clear base with a Sweet Kiss (bright pink) tip and these were going to be the first ones I used, naturally I slammed my hand in a cabinet and broke 3 nails. Now I have to wait for them to grow! I can tell you that this set comes with 16 base strips which you apply first and then 16 curved colored tips for you to apply at the top of your nails.

My "kit"
Since I have to wait on that one I chose to use the Stardust Glitter strips first. The very first thing I want to mention is that these strip compare equally in price to the ones I have been purchasing in drugstores and Walmart. After opening he package I right away noticed something to me that is a big difference vs. the previous brands I have purchased. This was an entire kit. Instruction booklet, a decent sized emery board, cuticle stick, a packet with two tips (is this for your "bling" fingers?) and a nail polish remover pad!

These went on super easy. Start with clean, buffed nails for best results. Begin at your pinky finger, placing one end against your cuticle line, slowly and carefully stretch the strip tight against your nail and fold over at the tip. I find my personal best results are when I use the cuticle stick to remove any excess around the inside edges and the sightly rough edge of the emery board to take off the excess on the tip. Then I use the smooth side of the emery board and run it over my nails to make sure the strip is adhered and there are no bubbles. I did mine while watching TV, even stopped in the middle to let the dogs out! I have had them on for a little over a week now and they look almost as good as the day I applied them. The Incoco strips can last up to 14 days depending upon your lifestyle.

I have honestly had a ton of compliments on these, from gas station attendants, my father and even an older male customer of ours (the man is a roofer!) I'm very impressed with Incoco and can't wait to order more of their designs.

BUY IT: You can purchase your own Incoco Nail Polish Strips online at, they even have a 4th of July collection! Prices are very reasonable, from $7.99 to $10.99

Prank Place Review

Are you a practical joker or someone who just enjoys a novelty item here and there? If so then hold on to your whoopee cushion because I have found the place for you. has a ton of items ranging from novel to fun all the way to outrageous.

I admit to frequently playing jokes on people (ahem, just video taped my husband scratching a fake lottery ticket--it was hilarious, but since some foul language made it onto the tape, I guess I shouldn't share it here). So when I was contacted by to see if I was interested in reviewing one of their products I agreed to check it out. I was at first hesitant, thinking whoopee cushions and fart spray-- which yes they do have-- but I prefer something a little more sophisticated.

Things like revenge toilet paper (will not rip or tear) to get my boss back for the rat he left by the light switch. Not to mention the Fake Parking tickets or the "Shit List" notepad. Yes, I see the theme, I enjoy torturing my coworkers, they deserve it. Trust me.

Not only does have gags and gag gifts but they also have TShirts, Hats, Bumper Stickers and shot glasses. Since we seem to wear tshirts in our relaxing time at home and my husband always wears one under his Chef coat, I was happy to receive a Bacon Makes Everything Better TShirt for review purposes. Not to mention bacon really does rock.

They have a whole slew of funny TShirts to choose from and I can personally attest to the fact that these 100% heavy duty, pre shrunk cotton T's kick butt. Mine has held up great through a couple of washings so far, it didn't shrink and the decal is still fresh and not cracked and old looking. It is super comfy and has become a favorite of mine for wearing at home.

So if you are looking for something fun, funny or just different, make sure to visit

Now if you will excuse me I have to plot more revenge on my coworkers.

Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector Review

I have previously tried and Exuviance product and very much liked the results I received from using it. This time I got to try the Exuviance OptiLight tone corrector, which helps to correct uneven tone and reveal a youthful, perfectly even complexion.
OptiLight Tone Corrector is made with four important ingredients to hep target and combat dark spots and uneven skin tone.
  1. NeoGlucosamine which gently exfoliates to break up pigment clusters
  2. Retinal and Vitamin C which combat existing dark spots
  3. Turmeric and Alpine plants that help to keep new dark spots from forming
  4. Optical diffusers to give your skin an instant radiance
It's very simple to use, simply apply to affected areas once a day for two weeks. After two weeks apply two times daily. Easy enough to do in the morning while getting ready for the day and at night when you take off your make up.  It is a pale yellowish color but goes on clear with a very, very faint lotion like scent.

I gave this to my mother to try. She has had some dark spots on her face for several years and they drive her insane, we aren't sure but guess that they are from her lupus. After several weeks of using the OptiLight Tone corrector they have visibly started to lighten up. She is very happy and can't wait to see what an additional couple weeks will do for them. Also, she has to be careful what products she does use but has had no adverse reactions.

Buy it: you can purchase the Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector, 1 oz for $62 at and in stores at select beauty retailers.

AR-15 Gun TShirt Review

If you celebrate the 2nd amendment and firmly believe in your right to bare arms, then I know just the place where you can find awesome gun t-shirts. I do believe in the 2nd amendment and have been taught my whole life to respect guns and that they are NOT toys.

Dad was (err, and still is) a hunter so he always had guns in the house and he didn't have any boys so I learned about muzzle loaders, rifles, shotguns, handguns etc.  So I was happy to get a chance to review the AR-15 gun t-shirt.

Except it didn't quite work out like I planned. Hubs saw it hanging on the chair the day I got it in the mail and said "ooh, for me? thanks" *sigh* Since I don't review much that he can use, I let him run with it. Also, since apparently I have forgotten that guns aren't toys, Hubs hid his air gun from me. Hey! If the neighbors keep letting their cats use my garden for a litter box, I thought it was only fair that I show them how to quickly exit said garden.....(he didn't agree with my tactics)

He's been wearing it for a couple days now. it's a nice thick quality. Even after several washings, the decal has stayed nice and the black of the tshirt has not faded at all. These shirts are made of heavy, sturdy cotton, are very durable and comfortable and besides they come in a wide a variety of designs besides the one my husband is wearing. Be sure to check them out so you can sport your very own popular gun t-shirt.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Carmex 75 Year Celebration Promotion

Hey everyone! You may or may not remember that as a member of the Carmex Blog Squad I've brought you some awesome giveaways and some great info from them.

This time around I don't have a giveaway or even a review, but I have some killer scoop for you. Carmex wants to celebrate their 75 years with 750,000 fans on Facebook. Quite a lofty goal, BUT they are giving you plenty of reasons to hit that "like" button.

Now I don't know the exact details, but I can tell you when they hit their 250,000 fans goal  the grand prize winner got $2500 in cash. Yup. You could buy alot of Carmex with 2500 smackeroos!

The next milestone is 500,000 fans. There will be 500 tubes of Carmex given out plus $$. The final milestone is 750,000 fans and prizes of 750 tubes of Carmex plus $$. Pretty sure you can see a trend, right?

Right now (as of June 11th when I'm typing this) they are at 396K fans. So I'm hoping all my readers will click the link to like them and take a second to enter the giveaway. (I don't get any sort of referral points for sending you, just sharing the love!) So go!

Frontier Outfitters Review & Giveaway

Frontier Outfitters was established in 1997 and specializes in luxury western bedding and fine home western decor. The boast a catalog with more than 2000 products, provided by 120 vendors, most of whom are right here in the USA. Many of the products they offer are sold exclusively through Frontier Outfitters.

Now, I know what some of you are thinking. Stuff like, "I live in Vermont, why would I would western decor" or "I'm not a kid to decorate cowboy style". Let me just tell you, you don't have to live in Texas or have a western theme to enjoy some of the beautiful, high quality items sold by Frontier Outfitters.

Let me show just a couple of my favorites (you know, in case you feel an urge to send me gifts)

Bella Vista Western comforter set

Bella Vista Embroidered Pillow

Rockstar Black Leather tote

Rustic Gold Square Candle Set

I found so many unique items that I adore while browsing the site. I think I may have actually drooled a bit while looking at the leather purses, backpacks and wallets. Okay, I probably drooled quite a bit and whimpered. Okay, enough of my window shopping and on with the review.

Frontier Outfitters sent me a Western Brands Rope Stem Champagne Glass Set (4 each) to review.  These are a sturdy yet elegant set of glasses. The four in stem is reminiscent of a rope and the rim has brown western motif designs all along it (they are also dishwasher safe). Hubs and I are not fancy schmancy people. I do buy champagne for New Years and once in awhile for a special occasion and we have some glasses. I have no idea where they came from and they are definitely not quality, very thin and you worry the slightest "clink" will shatter them.  The Western Brands glasses are a very sturdy glass, nice and thick, yet crystal clear so you won't be worried about shattering them on the first toast. The design is pretty but not over the top. Hubs even said they'd be great for sitting on the deck during our Tennessee vacation. At $28 for a set of four you can't beat the price considering the quality. They would make a great housewarming gift too!

BUY IT: You can purchase any of the items I've mentioned--and many more-- online at

WIN IT: Frontier Outfitters has graciously agreed to provide one of my readers with the exact same set of Western Brands Rope Stem Champagne Glasses that I received. Open to the US only. Please use the RaffleCopter form to enter.

Dearfoams Review & Giveaway

I've been a Dearfoams customer and I've also give dearfoams out as holiday gifts, but this is the first time I have been lucky enough to work with them as a blogger. They are a great company, with great customer service, which I know from being a customer, if you have a problem, they will fix it. They also frequently run contests and giveaways on their Facebook page.

Now you may be thinking, uh Carrie? It's June. Swimsuits, shorts and BBQ's, not slippers. That is where you would be wrong. Summer slippers are a must and dearfoams has and adorable and comfy line of them. Summer slippers are different than winter slippers, trust me. In the summer I hate wearing socks, but it also drives me insane when I feel fuzzies or random pieces of dog food (why, why must they spit random pieces around the house for me to step on?). Summer slippers are terry clothe covered flip flops, cute slides and fun colors.
stripped terry thong $22

I got the stripped terry thong in the turquoise and have been wearing them every day since they came. I can kick them off if I'm sitting down and slip them back on to walk around. Plus the extra heal cushioning makes them so nice after a long day of work and the rubberized bottom means you can even take out the trash, chill on the deck or whatever and not worry about slipping or bruising your heal on a rock.

I love my dearfoams and think I need to get a pair in each color--what? that way they match my jammies! If you are looking for a perfect gift for Dad (Father's Day is around the corner) think dearfoams and while you are there why not pick up a pair for yourself!

Now here is the fun part, remember how I said dearfoams is awesome about running contests? Well today (June 4th) is the kickoff for the second phase of their Next Top Dog Contest. There are going to be three lucky winners and they need our help picking the next top dog! Now it's too late to enter your dog, but you can vote and to sweeten the deal TWO of my readers are going to win their own pair of dearfoams (choice of Stripped Terry Thong, Blossom Peep Toe, Terry Open Toe w/flower, or the Blossom Terry Thong )
