Energizer Ultimate Lithium Batteries, Review & Giveaway

My regular readers know I love my technology, but one thing I haven't really mentioned is my loathing of batteries. It seems like I am constantly forking over an arm and a leg at the store for batteries. I normally by name brand because they really do seem to last longer than the store brand (could be just me though), either way it makes me cringe when I have to buy them. In the past I have been mostly loyal to Energizer and the bunny but admit to purchasing others for back up if there is a good sale or coupon.

Recently I had the chance to try out the Energizer® Ultimate® Lithium batteries. I've honestly never taken the jump and purchased these before because, well, I have no idea why.  Let me tell a little bit about them first:
In the spring of 2012 Energizer Ultimate lithium AA batteries (which were already the longest lasting AA's in high tech devices) got a power boost. They have a re-tooled formula which includes improved materials and construction so that they will last up to 9X longer in digital cameras.

Energizer itself has been a leader in battery innovation for more than 50 years and is still going strong (like the bunny! HA!)

Energizer® Ultimate® Lithium (MSRP $9.99)
  • World's longest lasting AA &B AAA batteries in high-tech devices
  • lightweight: 33 percent lighter than ordinary alkaline batteries
  • Performs well in extreme temperatures, from -40 F to 140 F
  • Last up to 9X longer in digital cameras for 9X less waste (vs Energizer Max)
  • 15 year storage life
I really cannot explain why I haven't read up on batteries and such before. I mean I use them constantly. From specific holiday decorations, to remote controls, to flashlights. I am so glad that I got the chance to try out  the Energizer® Ultimate® Lithium. One of my biggest pet peeves is my wireless computer accessories. I have a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. Since my "real" job has me on the computer for 10 hours a day, then I also blog--obviously--, shop, facebook, tweet and sometimes game- I go through batteries like nobody else's business. I hate seeing that little red light come on or worse, not noticing it and bumbling thinking the computer is frozen because the mouse won't move or the keyboard doesn't type. Oh don't judge, I'm not a morning person!! Since I've been using the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries I haven't even had to change my keyboard or mouse which is unusual.

Also, we live in an area that constantly looses power during the summer, I have flashlights stashed everywhere. I'd say roughly half the time I go to grab one and it doesn't work. UGH! I can assure you that I will be changing every single battery over to this kind! Now if Energizer would just figure out how to keep my iPhone charged I'd tattoo that bunny on my forehead!

Energizer wants to know what you think. Write a review and enter to win one of 10 Energizer Ultimate Lithium Prize Packages in the Rewards for Reviews Sweepstakes. Entry period ends on June 15th.

8) Energizer® Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries

PB Crave Review & Giveaway

Peanut Butter was pretty much a standard when I was growing up and I admit to still loving it as an adult. The thing is though, sometimes peanut butter gets boring when it's all by itself. Curt Reiss thought so too and after avoiding it for years one day he tried a combo of raspberries, peanut butter and chocolate. A light bulb went off in his head and it wasn't long before he created four unique PB Crave flavors. These awesome new flavors are produced by Sweet Harvest Foods in Cannon Falls, MN. who has been dedicated to producing uncompromised products for over 100 years.

PB Crave is also part of Project Peanut Butter-- a non profit organization focused on treating malnourished children. A minimum on 2% of the profits of each jar of PB Crave sold is donated to this project with a goal of helping 2 million children.

I received one of each flavor to try: Choco Choco, Coco Bananas, Razzle Dazzle and Cookie Nookie. Now I know you are thinking that those cannot possibly be good for you, but they ARE! Each jar is made with premium all-natural ingredients such as Belgium Chocolate, honey and super premium peanut butter.
  • No hydrogenated oil
  • no artificial flavors
  • no syrups
  • no high-fructose corn syrup
  • gluten and cholesterol free
  • made in small batches, artisan crafted
  • USDA approved manufacturing
Lemme tell you what, these peanut butters are to die for! Mine need mixed up a little- the top layer was a little melted,  but I am pretty sure that is because the mailman left them sitting in the 85 degree sun and I didn't get home for hours. My husband who is one of those sickening people who eats like a sixteen year old boy and stays the same weight all the time, wandered through the kitchen and said "can I eat these or you gotta bog about them or something?" I figured there was know way he could go through all four jars before I tasted them, so I gave him the go ahead.

He likes all of them, but I'm fairly certain he is in love with the Coco Bananas because at one point I busted him standing at the counter eating it with a spoon. Since I am a die hard chocolate fan I thought the Choco Choco was going to be my number one, and while it is delicious with the creamy peanut butter and swirls of dark chocolate, the Razzle Dazzle is my addiction. The Razzle is a tastebud frenzy of flavors, wild raspberry, little tiny chips of white and semi sweet chocolate, honey and fresh peanuts. It's my go to on my morning bagel! The Cookie Nookie is my 12 year old nieces favorite, she loves it on waffles--which reminds me, I think she swiped it because I haven't seen it!

PB Crave has a flavor for you, I promise. I can't wait to try out some cookie recipes with PB Crave! While I can't say exactly-- I can tell you that nutritionally I compared it to my normal brand, thinking it would be higher in fats and calories and PB Crave was actually less! You can purchase online in 3 packs for $17.97 or 6 packs for $35.94 HERE

Don't forget to connect with PB Crave socially for the up to the minute news:

The folks at PB Crave have been supremely generous and are going to provide TWO of my readers with a 3 pack of PB Crave each. Fathers Day is coming up in four short weeks. If you are anything like me, buying a gift for you father is about as much fun as a trip to the dentist. Lenders Bagels "A Very Clever Breakfast"

Hey all! I'm adding a new title to my list: Bagel Blogger. Pretty cool huh? I recently got to try out a bag of the new Healthy Grain Bagels by Lenders (through Clever Girl Collective).

Since I bring a bagel to work with me nearly morning for breakfast, I was all over this! Lenders Healthy Grain Bagels come in two delicious varieties, Multi Grain and Oat. These bagels are made with 7 different grains, high in dietary fiber (6g per serving) and are an excellent source of protein (11g per serving).

I chose to try the Healthy Grain Oat bagels. They are actually made with real rolled oats, sweetened with a touch of honey and contain as much fiber as a bowl of oatmeal!! This is perfect for me, since I am always running late and never have time to eat a healthy breakfast at home. I can toast it while I'm getting ready, pop it in my purse along with a Weight  Watchers cream cheese and off I go! Sometimes I use the peanut butter I have stashed in my desk, just to mix it up a little!

I am hooked on these bagels, I have had one every day this week! I really think that they taste way to good for something labeled "healthy" but shhhh! don't tell Lenders!

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective, and I received coupons for free Lender's Multi-Grain Bagels. The content and opinions expressed here are all my own. #LendersHealthyGrain #spon

The Complete Idiots Guide to Couponing Review & Giveaway

I started couponing last year for several reasons. 1) I saw all those Extreme Couponers on TV and thought, "I can do that"  2) I got super tired of getting into my shower and finding my shampoo was missing because my husband ran out and swiped it for his shower and 3) Who doesn't want to save money?

I really, really wish that I had had The Complete Idiot's Guide to Couponing when I first started. Nowadays it is very confusing to figure it all out! I had a devil of a time figuring out what all the crazy terms were, how to stack coupons, different stores coupon policies, Internet print offs, Catalina's and more!

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Couponing shows readers how to maximize their savings by couponing more strategically. It includes sections such as:
  • Different types of coupons and how to use each most effectively
  • Stacking coupons to maximize savings
  • Earning money back from shopping trips
  • Saving money while shopping online
  • Couponing for special diets, including shopping for organics and allergen-free items
  • Organizing coupons--and organizing the stockpile of purchases
  • Finding the deals
  • Sharing couponing bounty with others
I know I said that I have been couponing for a year or so now, and that is true. I have converted my fruit cellar into my stockpile. However, that doesn't mean that I don't have more to learn. Plus with a 60 hour work week on top of blogging and everything else, I don't have alot of time to spare for research. So I happily spent time reading this book.

One of the first things that caught my eye and told me that this book is for me, and for anyone else who wants to coupon and save money while having a little bit of stuff stocked up was the very first chapter. The author, Rachel Gordon, who also blogs at MashUpMom.com , explains that there is a big difference between people who coupon and stockpile for use and someone who coupons for the thrill, has a huge stockpile of stuff hoarded that will never get used.

The book is broken down into easy to use, relevant chapters. Teaching you everything from grocery couponing, drugstore savings, online cashback programs and ways to save money with apps on your phone.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to start couponing. It is easy to read and full of relevant tips and tricks to get you started on the path to saving money! (Plus, you won't get that "honey, we're out of toilet paper" at 11 pm because you will have got a backup or two onsale and be stocked up!)

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Couponing by Rachel Singer Gordon is available at many retailers for the suggested price of $16.95. Of course you can totally save some bucks and get it at Amazon!

One of my readers is going to win a copy of their very own! Please use the rafflecopter form below to enter the giveaway:

Essential Swimwear Review & Giveaway

Summer is FINALLY here to stay (don't take that as a challenge Mother Nature!) and Memorial Day is right around the corner. In my neck of the woods that is when all the pools traditionally open and swimsuit season is in full swing. So naturally I've been hunting for some quality, flattering swimwear.

I have had trouble my whole life, whether in my skinny, fat or in-between stage, trying to find a bathing suit to fit me properly. Ever since I hit teenager-dom and developed breasts it's been  a nightmare. I am well endowed on top and my bottom definitely doesn't match. Shopping at department stores is a nightmare. They usually don't approve of you switching the XXL top to go with a med or large bottom (who knew?). Plus the swim suits are usually not exactly high quality.

I like a suit that is thick enough that you can't see through it when it gets wet. The top needs to have support and coverage for the girls without looking like a granny suit. Essential Swimwear meets and exceeds all those requirements. They offer quality swimsuits in a variety of styles and options. You can get one piece, swim tops, swim skirts, swim bottoms or even board shorts. All of the two piece options are mix and match so you don't have to worry about half of your suit not fitting properly. Sizes run from XS to XXL. Hesitant to buy online because you can't try it on? No worries, Essential Swimwear offers free exchanges, how many companies do that?

Essential Swimwear just unveiled their 2012 swim line and I couldn't wait to take a look! I chose the Red Wheel Halter top in an XXL and the High Waist Black Bottoms in a large for my review.
If it helps, I normally wear a 38F bra, so that shows you how well the suit holds in larger chests

The bottoms are fantastic, if you need a little extra tummy control you simply unfold the waist and voila. Want more of a hipster look? Just fold the panel down and you are set. The legs are a medium cut which makes sure everything important is covered but still gives you a flattering line. I really like that the bottoms don't ride up during activity, that is a serious pet peeve of mine!

The halter top is very flattering and I like the thicker behind the neck tie, it's perfect for us women who have bit more to hold up in the front. Plus there is also a tie that goes around the back for even more support. The cups are lined and there is no peak through! I'm already cruising the catalog to see which suit I want to buy next! In

Now make sure you follow Essential Swimwear on Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter because not only do I think they are awesome, but they are going to hook up one of my readers with a $50 gift code. Can't wait for the giveaway to end to grab one of these fabulous suits? No problem cuz my super amazing contact is hooking you up with a %10 off coupon code. Lenovo Speakers, Get Your Jam On!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Lenovo for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
_38_0_57Y6361_V1.jpg (JPEG Image, 1000 × 1000 pixels).jpg
Have you heard of the new  Lenovo speaker M0620? NO?? Whoa, don't worry, you have come to the right place, because I am just the tech loving gal to fill ya in!
The Lenovo speaker M0620 is a 2.0 speaker system that includes a main speaker with built in ampliphiers and a sub-speaker. You can easily attach these to your laptop, desktop pc or can even use it with a smart phone or MP3/MP4 player. These speakers are small in size, but they produce a big, bold sound.
Some of the features and benefits include:
  • 4 watts of power for high-quality sound
  • convenien USB-powered connection with energy saving function
  • speaker wire spools for easy storage
  • elegant yet sturdy.
Now here is my take, with no technical jargon, just opinion!
These little guys are adorable. So cute but so functional. I know a million different ways to use them. Recently I had to take the radio and hide it from my office assistant--she is 22 and there to answer the phone, I'm dealing with hundreds of thousands of dollars. I need quiet to think, she's bored. I want to run out and grab her a set of these, she could hook them up to her computer, listen to whatever the heck that is she listens too and it wouldn't be bothering me!
Also, the day so of big boomboxes and stereos are long past, most of us have a kabillion songs all stored on our iPods, iPhones, Androids or what have you. So if you are out doing some work outside, laying by the pool, washing the car you could easily hook your gadget up and have your tunes where and when you want them.
Side note: when did desktop computers stop coming with speakers? The last one we bought had everything except speakers. So I had to make another trip to the store and buy a set. If I had had the Lenovo speaker I wouldn't have had that problem, could have just popped the USB in and been set!
_38_0_57Y6361_V2.jpg (JPEG Image, 1000 × 1000 pixels).jpg
Did I mention they are super cute? Cuz they are!
They are also super affordable, from 5/15 - 5/21 they are on sale fro $11.99, so don't get caught without your music1

#EclosBeauty Skin Care Review & Giveaway

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of ├ęclos Skin Care for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Eclos_StarterKit.jpg
Product Information:
Eclos products feature Apple Stem Cells which have been extracted from a rare Swiss apple. These have shown tremendous ability to stimulate the growth of new skin stem cells, encouraging the skin to behave like younger skin. Plant extracts vitamins and anti oxidants combine with Apple Stem cell technology to minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and tired skin.
Similar products used to only be available at specialty department stores and had that special price tag to match. Now ├ęclos Skin Care has brought the same type of high quality product to mainstream stores at an affordable price.
I received a eclos Anti Aging Skin care starter kit to try and have been using it for about a week and a half now. So far I have really enjoyed the products and feel like they are making a difference in the appearance and feel of my skin. I'm 36 (shhhh!) and I work long days, sometimes leaving the house at 7 am and not coming home til 8 pm. My skin gets tired just like my body and I think eclos is helping it wake up.
Here are the products I have been using:
Facial Cleanser Skin Prep: Love this cleanser, I've tried quite a few and this one is different. It isn't so watery that it runs right out of your hands before you can get it to your face. It's a medium thickness opaque gel, I use it morning and night. I find that nickel size drop does the trick to get my skin clean and prepped for the other steps.
Instant Radience Facial Scrub: Small sand like granules that remove the dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling fresh. Doesn't irritate my face or leave me red and raw. Also enhances cell turnover.
Cellular Activator Face Serum: Meant to rehabilitate aging skin and to regnerate cells. Goes on super smooth and actually feels sort of silky. A little goes a long way
Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream: Works best used ver the Cellular Activator Face Serum, reduces lines and wrinkles. This cream smells great, goes on smoothly and absorbs well, In addtion to reducing fine lines I think it is doing wonders to keep my dry areas from being flaky.
Restorative Eye Cream: Meant to be used on the soft, delicate skin around the eyes and reduce fine lines and increase moisture content. My eyes have always been a sore spot with me, I hate my dark circles and have recently started to notice a little bit of a papery look. The Restorative cream seems to be helping my skin look firmer and it doesn't make my eyes burn, if it gets rid of my dark circles I'd vote it for president.
Skin Renewal Clay Mask: The mask is designed to absorb dirt and oils that get stuck in your pores. Use twice weekly for maximum benefits. I enjoy this mask quite a bit, it didn't irritate my skin and lately I've been breaking out like a teenager before prom. This has really seemed to help clear that up.
Bonus is the Terry Cloth headband, keeps your hair back so you don't end up with clay mask or anything else gunked in it and its super comfy.
The left picture is before and the right is after about a week and a half. Neither have make up.
One reader is going to win the exact same starter kit I received. To enter just leave a blog comment telling me the product you are most excited to try. That's it!
Contest open to US only, must be 18+ to enter. Giveaway will end on May 30th at 11:59pm EST. Winner to be drawn by random.org and will be notified by email. Must respond within 48 hours r a new winner will be drawn. If your email is not attached to your profile please leave it in your comment, if I can't reach you, you can't win.

Dropps Fabric Softener Pacs Review & Giveaway

Have you heard of dropps, the pre-measured  toss in laundry detergent pacs? If not you can read the review I did on them last year here. Most recently dropps has come out with a totally revolutionary and unique product (at least as far as I know), a drop in laundry softener pac! I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this in all my shopping trips, and I am a good shopper! I know several brands have the little "booster" add ins but those are just for scent, you still need softener.

I love me some fabric softener. My mom always says you shouldn't use it on towels because then they don't absorb water as well.....I'm not sure if that is true or not, but I use it anyways. I llike everything I own to be super soft and to smell good. One draw back is that you have to be careful, at least in my crummy washer, that the liquid softener doesn't stain your clothing. With the new, convenient Dropps Fabric Softener Pacs you don't have to worry about that. There is no mess, no measuring and no fuss. You simply toss the pack in the washer as it's filling, throw your clothes in and you are set.

I used 3 because I was washing a comforter. Don't worry about the water turning colors, it does not stain!
The softener pacs work in all machines, high efficiency as well as standard models or even crummy like mine! Dropps are safe for all colors, fabrics and can be used in any temperature.

So how do they work?
Well most liquid fabric softeners actually clog the fibers of your clothing with a slippery coating (who knew? not me!) Dropps uses tiny natural minerals that actually flow through your clothing, leaving behind nothing but breathable, comfortable fabrics that are soft and fragrant from wash to wash.

These eco friendly fabric softener pacs are available in three fantastic scents; Orange Blossom, Lavender and Wild Orchid. Each convenient zip top bag contains 16 pacs, one for a normal size load, two for a larger load. I love the orange for my work clothing, it is so energizing and the Lavender is my favorite for sheets and other bedding, subtle and relaxing. Online price is $4.50 per bag.

Buy It: you can purchase Dropps Softener pacs or laundry pacs by clicking HERE.

Win It: One of my readers will win a full size bag of  Dropp Fabric Softener Pacs in the scent of their choice. US only, please use the Rafflecopter form to enter

Plus Size Lingerie Boutique Review

Calling all ladies! Just cuz we might be considered plus size doesn't mean we don't like to feel sexy, am I right? Of course I am, I am always right (just ask my husband--or maybe not).

I discovered Plus Size Lingerie Boutique and I did what any good blogger does, I looked for their "about us" section. I like to know what makes a company tick, how they came about or even what their mission statement might be. Something personalish to let me know if they are someone I would stand behind and tell my readers about.

Happy Napper Review

Converts from doghouse to dog!

Recently I had the opportunity to review a Happy Napper. Since my sister leaves her kids at my house quite regularly I jumped at the chance. My nieces are 12 and 2 and both love dogs so it was a no brainer to ask to review the Doghouse to Dog Happy Napper.

Happy Nappers are a super soft plush pillow that convert to fun and adorable stuffed animal. They are available in six different "species" lol! Hut to Monkey, Castle to Dragon, Bungalow to Lady Bug, Igloo to Penguin, Doghouse to Dog and Palace to Unicorn, so there is something for both boys and girls favorite animal!

The Doggy came all zipped up in his house. You push the little doorbell on his house (each napper has their own special doorbell and sound) and our little pup snores, so adorable it made my littlest niece belly giggle! Now that you have woken him up, you unzip the door and pull the little guy out, the house goes into his body and you zip him up. Voila, doggy!

He is the cutest, shaggiest lovable little guy with his pink tongue sticking out!! She dragged him all over the house! The nice part is when it's time for her nap we can just put puppy to bed inside his house and she can tell him night night, then use the house for her pillow! So they get to take naps together!

All tucked in his house
You rang the doorbell?
My oldest niece is "to old" to play with baby toys but I'm pretty sure girls are never too old for soft, cozy animals on their beds and I could tell she was being nice and letting lil sis have it by a slim margin. I'm gonna have to head on over and pick up the Penguin for her for her birthday and maybe a ladybug for me.....WHAT? They are soft!!
Here I am!!!!

Happy Nappers are available online at Happy Napper for $14.99 + S&H, BUT if  you use the special code: SPECIAL4U you will get free shipping! Woot! Thanks Happy Napper!
* A portion of all proceeds from Happy Nappers' will be give to the Home Sweet Home fund benefiting the Childrens Brain Tumor Foundation.

Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner, Review & Giveaway

So excited to be bringing yet another Simple Green product to the attention of my readers. You may or may not remember some items I have reviewed for them in the past, like the Pet Products or the Household Cleaners so feel free to take a peek at those reviews.

Simple Green is a family run company that loves their pets, works to protect the environment and have been selling the Original Simple Green products since 1975. I have yet to try a product from their company that has not exceeded my expectations and in all honesty I don't even worry about doing a review for them, I actually look forward to it (and I hate to clean)

This time around I got to try out the Simple Green All Purpose Household Cleaner. I received one 32 oz bottle of concentrate and an empty spray bottle. If you dilute the concentrate at regular strength it will make 7 gallons of cleaner! Can the cleaner you normally pick up at the store do that? Didn't think so! You can use this to clean pretty much anything you can think of; walls, doors, floors, grout, counter tops, stoves, cars, toys and more! Got a mess? Simple Green has the cure for that.

The handy dandy dilution bottle has the instructions printed right on, which in my opinion is genius because I'd lose anything that was printed. It shows you how much or how little to put in depending on the strength you are looking for. Put your cleaner in, fill the rest with water and you are set to clean the smallest or largest job. (I'm wondering if the guy from that TV show Dirty Jobs knows about this stuff? Maybe I should email him?)

Obviously I make not going to make it to Hollywood as a camera person, but here is an amateur video showing me mixing the solution then how easy it is to wipe off whatever the heck it was my husband let dry on our counter top:

Still not ready to run to your nearest store and pick some up? (and I don't know why  not!) How about if I tell you that Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner is non-toxic, biodegradable and safe to use around both two legged and four legged children?

Body Media Review

It is no secret that I have been trying (and mostly succeeding) to lose weight over that last year. I've done it before, but always with crazy diets. Sure you can get results drinking a shake twice a day, but a) you miss chewing food like you wouldn't believe and b) that really doesn't set you up to keep the weight off. Eventually you have to start eating again!

This time around I am not on a diet. I am making small changes and choosing to do things a bit at time. It works for me. By doing it this way I am training myself gradually to adopt a new, healthier routine and I don't fall off a wagon because I feel so deprived. Last year I lost around 30 pounds and besides 5 that comes and goes, I have kept it off. I need to lose another 30 minimum to be at a comfortable weight.

The BodyMedia FIT is helping me by letting me know when I need to make physical changes to my routine to burn some additional calories. So now you are wondering what exactly a BodyMedia FIT is, right? Well it is a Body Monitoring Weight Management System that is deceptively simple to use and it has been clinically proven to improve weight loss up to 3x.

How does a simple armband work to help you lose weight?
You wear the armband for no more than 23 hours a day and it tracks every step you take, how many calories you are burning and how well you sleep. It has 4 sensors that are in contact with your skin continuously monitoring a wide range of your bodies actions and responses. Most body monitory systems track the number of steps you take (bodymedia included), while that is great it isn't really accurate as to your caloric burn. The BodyMedia system with its four sophisticated sensors pulls in over 5000 data points per minute. Meaning if you go for a 2 miles walk it records it, but if you go for a two mile walk up a steep hiking path it knows that you burnt a ton more calories .
  • Galvanic Skin Response: When you sweat your skin becomes more electrically conductive. This measurement helps you see how active you are.
  • Skin temperature measures the surface temperature of your body
  • Heat Flux-- measures the rate at which heat dissipates from your body
  • 3-Axis Accelerometer- measures the motion of your body and the number of steps taken
That is about as technical as I am going to get, you can read more on the website. Now I am going to tell you my thoughts. In all honesty I was very skeptical at first that this system to could really do everything it was touted too. I mean I've used pedometers that couldn't accurately count how many steps I took!

I received the BodyMedia *LINK Armband. (there is another smaller model but I chose this one because it is bluetooth capable) I took it out of the box and charged it up, while setting up my online account. Obviously, all that data is great but someone has to figure out what it all means and that certainly isn't going to be me. They have an online website that analyzes all the data and reports everything back to you in easy to understand visuals. After it was charged I put it on my arm, it fits snuggly to your skin and is mostly unnoticeable under your shirt sleeve. For the first day or two it was a bit annoying but now I don't notice it at all, as a matter of fact I feel weird when I take it off to shower or charge it.

After uploading the first days worth of data my skepticism went right out the window. I had worn it to bed and thought it would never catch my sleep patterns (or lack there of). I have a habit of frequently waking up and the bodymedia caught every time I got up to go the bathroom, get a drink, let a dog out or just stare at the clock with such accuracy that it was almost creepy.

I downloaded the free app to my iPhone and can check at anytime of the day, how much activity I have done, if I need to bump it up. It even tells how much of the activity is strenuous activity and for how long! This keeps me on my toes and from being a slouch. You can set goals for yourself, like the amount of steps to take in a day, minutes of physical activity, calories to burn and so on. I love when I beat my goals! The only negative thing I can say is that in logging your food, they system does not seem to have an extensive database. It does allow you to create your own dishes and save them though.
Here is a partial screen shot of a random day, obviously it was one where I forgot to log all my intake

All in all I love my BodyMedia FIT and would recommend it to anyone that wants to make lifestyle changes. This system is really helping me to understand and be conscious of what I do. I can also tell you that customer service is amazing. I had a slight problem with my unit and they were so helpful and quick to resolve my problems. I wish every company I have had to deal with was like that!

BUY IT: You can purchase a Bodymedia unit online at http://www.bodymedia.com/Shop/Armband-Packages They have several different units to choose from, ranging in price from $99 to $199 and your first 3 months of the activity manager are free. You can also purchase different accessories like cute armbands in the store. (I am currently trying to decide if I want a pink or zebra band!) BodyMedia units can also be purchased at select retailers like Amazon, CVS, Costco, Best Buy and Target.

The Interent Amuses Me

So usually in the mornings I take my breakfast to work with me and pray they are all smart enough to stay the heck away from me for at least a half hour minimum. I eat my weight watcher bagel and ingest caffeine and read the headlines on the internet. Today a couple caught my eye and made go HUH? Then when I clicked and looked at the pictures I knew it was too much to keep these gems to myself!

Patricia Krentcil Arrested For Putting 5-Year-Old Daughter  in New Jersey Tanning Booth.

Ermm...okay, bad parenting 101 and this sounds like an episode of Toddlers and Tiaras gone wrong.

Look at mom:

44 year old mom has a face that looks like its been mummified. Kids-- this is what you will look like if you don't use sunscreen.
Now look at her mugshot:

What. The. Hell.
Is this a new fad? Should we all be using sharpies for lipliner?
I'm not going to get into the entire story, you can read it HERE if you want to finish frying your brain.

One more for the road.
Apparently Adrienne Bailon is famous for something. Having never heard of here I naturally googled. She is a former Disney Cheetah girl and the ex of Rob Kardashian. She looked vaguely familiar and after clicking a few links I realized I first saw her at Surfer Wifes blog for her Fashion Disasters Post
(took me awhile to figure that out though because I have the following picture stuck in my head)

Click the picture to make it bigger. I dare you. I can't figure out if she is wearing a bathing suit or auditioning for Cat Woman takes over Outer Space.
Seriously, the bathing suit has flappy sleeves. It looks like it's made of pvc, a midget could hula hoop in those earrings and that isn't even mentioning the off center crotchal area and camel toe. Can she not afford a mirror? You can read the article HERE if you really feel the need to know more.

After reading these informative posts I feel ready to start my work day. The Internet amuses the heck out of me
