Petmate Portion RightFeeder Holiday Review - Giveaway

As a mommy to four furry babies and none of the two legged sort (we tried, it didn't work) I tend to spoil the little ones a bit. No kiddos to buy gifts for so the pups get presents for the holidays. That's not so strange. Right? Right! Anyways, I do spoil them, but I also buy them things that are good for them or that make all of our lives easier. They're dogs, therefore they can't complain if I buy them a new feeding bowl for Christmas when what they really wanted was a Barbie dream house.

I recently received the new--as in just hit the shelves November 1st-- Portion Right Feeder. The Portion Right Feeder is great for a household with multiple dogs, large dogs, or when you need to monitor the amount of dog food you are feeding. Not to mention the added bonus of not needing to find a separate place to store your dog food.

The clear top "jug" holds up to ten pounds of dog food. The silver top comes off and you just dump it in and put the top back on to keep out bugs or the food from going stale. Turn the nob on the side to dispense food directly into the food bowl. A 180 degree turn will dispense about a half cup of food. The knob turns in either direction. No worries about how you clean this either. The entire feeder easily comes apart, the clear jug comes off with a twist, the lid comes off of that with a snap. The bowl slides off the bottom for easy cleaning. So it's a simple matter to rinse it off, let it dry and have a clean system in a jiffy.

In a house with four dogs, even though they are small, this is fabulous. Our kitchen is pretty small, so storing the dog food right on the bowl is a big help and makes it super easy to feed them. This system would also be fantastic for people with arthritis or older pet owners. The knob is so easy to turn, you could even do it with a foot if you have trouble with bending over, and much easier than trying to pry open a sealed container with arthritic joints.  My amateur video can be seen below (no we don't normally feed them in the middle of the room, the lighting was just better there)
