Nutrisystem was affected by Hurricane Sandy. Not as bad as some, but the corporate headquarters were shut down for four days due to power outages and local flooding. Now what you may not know about Nutrisystem is that the partner with Feeding America (which works closely with the Red Cross) and annually donates pantry ready meals to those in need. Since there was obviously a tremendous need for many after this storm, Nutrisystem stepped in and made sure that 12,500 meals were being immediately directed to Hurricane Sandy disaster relief and will be distributed to food banks and shelters in affected areas.
Thank you Nutrisystem, for thinking of others even when you yourself aren't having the best week, I am so proud to be a part of this family. If any of my readers are interested in seeing how they can help, contact your local Redcross, visit redcross.org or Text REDCROSS to 90999 to give a $10 donation.
My personal update seems a little less important after that, but I will leave you with a couple pictures to show you how far I have come. When I get discouraged or lose momentum I take a look at these.
*They aren't the best, when I was heavy I typically refused to be in pictures so there are very few. Now the "skinnier" me are self portraits taken via cell phone. I've got to get a camera one of these days!
