I am so very excited to be doing a review with Mohawk Home, the rug division of Mohawk Industries. They are the largest manufacturer of area rugs, indoor and outdoor mats and washable rugs in the United States (not to mention their super stylish designs).
Here are some other facts I'm betting you didn't know about Mohawk Home. Mohawk Industries leads the market in many different flooring categories such as carpet, ceramic tile, stone, wood and rugs in the United States. They are even leaders in the European market in laminates. Obviously to be such a leader in the industry they are not a fly by night company just getting started. Mohawk dates back to the 1800's when they became on of the very first American carpet manufacturers and as of today they are headquarter in Calhoun, Georgia and also have operations on three other continnets.
Some of you may have read on my facebook status updates that I have been eagerly anticipating my Mohawk rug. Like really, really anticipating to the point that while I have been at work I have been texting my husband "is it there yet?" Finally on Friday he was able to answer in the affirmative and I couldn't wait to get home from work (err, more so than usual)
I recently rearranged the living room in a way that really opened up the floor space and while the hard wood floors are nice, I wanted a rug. What can I say, rugs make me happy and they are a sure fire way to really change up the room. Being a frugal gal I picked up a no name brand from the department store that I paid twenty some dollars for. I thought it was a good deal. I also thought it made the room look better and that I could ignore the fact that it was always slipping and sliding and thin as paper too boot.
After changing it out with the Mohawk Home rug I now realize how wrong I was. Really, Really wrong! This is obviously one instance where my frugality got in the way of quality. Mohawk rugs are not expensive and they are definitely miles above in the quality department-- not to mention color and design. While we are on the subject, let me just say that you don't have to go to a special high end store to get a Mohawk product--if I'd have just kept looking in the first place, probably the next aisle over I would have been able to grab one in the first place.
Retailers carrying Mohawk Products:
So next time you are shopping for a new rug, whether it a mere bathmat, hall runner or an entire room rug, make sure that you are looking at a Mohawk. It's well worth it and I can't possibly begin to list the myriad of designs, colors and styles they have. just trust me when I say that you will find something to suit your tastes.
Now on to my choice. After much deliberation I chose the Mohawk Home Ink Swirl Cocoa 5' X 8' which retails for $117.
|Before, dark and boring|
|After. Amazing Difference!|
