If you have a busy lifestyle, cooking a healthy dinner at home isn't always an option. However getting a healthy meal at a restaurant is normally pretty dicey. Many so called "healthy" options really are not, if you read the fine print or actually take a look at the ingredients you may be really surprised to find how not healthy that salad is!

I recently received a "Fit From the Farm" Kit from them to educate me a little better on their new Fit Menu and to help me keep track of my efforts to eat better! Help!

I need a little help if anyone is able or knows someone, or even knows someone who knows someone.

I really want to get a couple of touch ups done on my blog. Little things, but I can't seem to figure out how to do them on my own.

My page list thingy is all squished together....and it drives me nuts! How can I make them unsquish? (ya, I know that isn't a technical term....so shoot me) I am sick of them all looking like one big run together word.

 
2md thing is I would really like to have a favicon and yeah....that is way beyond my current brain cell quota...nothing fancy, maybe one of the paw prints from my page?

3rd thing---Possibly cleaning up my "Where I am" box. Does that box seem like it needs fixed to anyone or am I just being nit picky?

Anyway, I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have. Either on who can help me or how to make my blog more user friendly!

It's been a heck of a week

I haven't been linking up with Boobies, Babies and a Blog & My Mad Mind lately for their Fawk You Friday....for no other reason than I mostly a moron. I think of things through out the week and say "that would be great to write about" and since I don't make myself a note Friday comes and I find myself wondering what the heck I was actually planning to write about.

This week however..........this week was doosy.

A Giant Fawk You goes out to Mother Nature. She is out to get me I swear. 

Monday morning at 6 am, February 14th and the temperature is in the 30's. I stumble into the bathroom and as I am blearily staring at the wall I finally focus my gaze enough to realize that those little black dots all over my shower are ants. ANTS. IN FEBRUARY.
Now rats, snakes, bats...those don't bother me but even typing the word ANTS gives me the creepy crawlies.  I've sprayed them, I've smooshed them, I've put out ant bait traps and yet I keep finding them.  WTF?

Mother Nature again: It has been 46 freaking days since my last period. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Do you have any idea of the pent up PMS and Bloating I have going on right now? And no, I am NOT pregnant--3 tests have confirmed that.

And a Final Fawk goes to my bank. I stop to get money out of the ATM, apparently it's a brand spanking new one. Apparently a schmuck installed it, because when I tried to get my card out it was more than apparent that it wasn't aligned correctly. The card would come out a 1/4 inch, hit the lip of the machine and suck back in until naturally it just kept my card.  As I am driving down the road I have hubby dial and hand me the phone so I can report it. I answer all the security questions and then she asks for my account number. Tell hubby to read it to me. She says "I'm sorry ma'am I can't help you if I hear someone else read the number to you." WHAT? I'm driving. On a Road. In a moving vehicle. How exactly would you like me to read the account number from my checkbook while doing that? "I'm sorry ma'am. I can't help you. You will have to call back later"  Are you kidding me? My card is stuck in a machine and I don't know if someone else is going to get lucky enough to access my account. "Have a nice day ma'am." Click.

Call said bank next day during business hours (she giggles and says alot of cards got eaten..duh) and ask if I can send husband in to retrieve card for me. Nope. Even though he is a joint holder on the account I have to go. By 4pm or they will destroy my card and it will take 10 days to get a new one. (but I work til 5).......Needless to say this isn't the first time I have had problems with this bank but it will be the last. Goodbye Charter One. I switched. To a really nice bank with a really nice lady who let me open a joint checking and savings account over the phone. She gave me free checks, free overdraft and free use of ANY ATM in the US.

Pshew! sorry that was so long but boy did I need to rant about that.....before I go home and kill more ants...in my shower.....I may never be able to relax in the shower again......

Anywho, this is what is going down. I have to share five things about myself with you lucky ducks. The only catch is that only 1 is true and the the other 4 are just some random items the voices in my head told me to say.

I signed up with a company called Social Spark in July of 2010. Sign up takes about 5 minutes. You give them your blog info, email address and answer a couple questions. They send me an email when I have a "lead". I log in and check out what the sponsor would like, how much they offer and I choose if I want the assignment or not.

The assignments are normally very easy, around 200 words minimum and link or two. 

The best part is THEY PAY YOU to do what you already do....Blog. You don't have to pitch anyone, which rocks! You also are not required to take an opp...it's entirely up to you.

Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Lotion Review & Giveaway

I have reviewed several products from Tropical Traditions in the past, but this is the first time I have tried one of the items from their skin care line. I have always been impressed with their other products so was quite anxious to see how this one would live up to my expectations. 

Naturally, all of the moisturizing lotions from Tropical Traditions are made with their organic Virgin Coconut Oil and Virgin Palm Oil, the finest bases on the market today and contain high levels of anti oxidants:

Virgin Palm Oil contains high concentrations of a powerful form of Vitamin E called “tocotrienols” which published research has shown is 40–60 times more potent than alpha-tocopherol (the most common form of Vitamin E found as an additive in most skin care products.) In addition to these powerful Vitamin E tocotrienols, Virgin Palm Oil is also rich in natural carotenes. It is one of the richest natural plant sources of carotenes with concentrations of 500–700 ppm. It is 15 times more retinol-equivalent than carrots and 300 times more than tomatoes, for example.

I received an 8oz bottle of the Moisturizing Lotion in the Baby Silk scent. I don't know why, but the first thing I always do is sniff any type of lotion....I guess I don't care how good it works if the smell doesn't appeal to me. It's times like these I wish I could put a scratch and sniff sticker in the post....the scent is very appealing but hard to describe. For me it seems reminds me of a cross between that wonderful clean baby smell and a high end spa. If that scent doesn't appeal to you, no big deal, you can choose from Lavender, Unscented, Citrus, Peppermint or Arnica.

As you can see in the picture, it comes out of the bottle very thick, so it isn't glopping all over the place. The great thing is though, that unlike some thick moisturizers it seems to just melt right into your skin very easily so you aren't rubbing and rubbing to try to get it to absorb. 

I really enjoy the bottle I received, it's perfect for my moisture deprived winter skin!
