Bob Evans- Fit From the Farm!

If you have a busy lifestyle, cooking a healthy dinner at home isn't always an option. However getting a healthy meal at a restaurant is normally pretty dicey. Many so called "healthy" options really are not, if you read the fine print or actually take a look at the ingredients you may be really surprised to find how not healthy that salad is!

Healthy options are one of the areas where Bob Evans is leading the race! I recently received a "Fit From the Farm" Kit from them to educate me a little better on their new Fit Menu and to help me keep track of my efforts to eat better! My kit included a 32 oz BPA free water bottle to help me get my daily 64 oz, a dry erase magnetic weekly meal planner, a coupon for a free Fit Meal, a pedometer and a little fact sheet listing some easy ways to burn calories.

I have always enjoyed eating at Bob Evans and so has the hubby, but I gotta admit I usually choose a breakfast option (yummy!). The Fit Pack made me take a second look at the menu. The Fit From the Farm options are delectable and all at 650 calories OR LESS, no MSG and 0 grams of trans fat. Now that is a healthy option. You can check out the Fit Menu yourself to see all the great choices, but here are a few of my favorite options:
Veggie Omelet: Fresh baby spinach and onions are cooked into this 3-egg omelet made with Bob Evans Egg Lites, our no-cholesterol egg blend. Served with a fresh fruit dish and a slice of wheat toast (dry) with Jelly.
272 / 2g / 0g / 549mg

Grilled Chicken Breast:
A marinated boneless chicken breast served with a baked potato (plain) and steamed broccoli florets.
403 / 6g / 2g / 676mg

PhotobucketI received the above mentioned items in order to offer my opinion of them. No other compensation was offered or received.

HappyFeet, Review & Giveaway

About Happy Feet Insoles:

Revolutionary 3-Way Action Design Provides Maximum Comfort.

Happy Feet's proprietary manufacturing process bonds a breathable, lightweight fabric to a high-strength bladder containing viscosity-controlled fluid to provide comfort and relief by distributing weight evenly, absorbing impact and massaging with every step. Happy Feet® Insoles fit in any shoe, including sandals, and are recommended by people everywhere to treat foot pain.
As someone who spent from 16 to 31 working in restaurants doing everything from waiting tables to tending bar to hostessing to being a general manager, I know foot and leg pain. Especially when I was managing, because then I was spending 10 to 12 hours a day on my feet in dress shoes. There were days when I came home and could barely walk. While I am not doing that anymore, I still spend a good deal of the day on my feet and they hurt. All those years of abuse have taken a toll on my legs and feet.

I have tried just about every insole out there looking for some relief and never really found one that helped. Many of those "gel" ones are too thick and once you put them in a womans dress shoe, your foot doesn't fit anymore. Or the ones you buy and have to "trim" to the correct size like a 1st graders art project well...c'mon we all know they never fit right! Half the time you accidently trim them too much so the soles slide all over your shoe driving you crazy all day.

I received my Happy Feet  and I wasn't too impressed when I looked at them. I thought "how can something so thin possibly help my feet, legs and back?" I went ahead and put them in my shoes anyways. I ordered them in a size 7.5 and they slid right into my shoes perfectly, no trimming necessary. When I put my shoes on the first thing I noticed was that they didn't raise me up so that my shoe fit funny. Then I walked out the door for work and actually stopped and looked down at my feet I was so amazed. The only way I can think to describe it is that it's like walking on super strong bubble wrap that doesn't pop.

I actually took my shoe off and pulled out the insole to look at it again thinking I put it in wrong or something! Nope, it's just the pharmaceutical grade glycerin filling massaging my feet everytime I take a step!

Of course the breathable moisture management, where the fabric wicks moisture away to keep your feet dry is great. As is the Anti-Microbial Treatment which resists odor & mildew. You can also hand wash or machine wash with soap and water and air dry to keep them clean and fresh.

I can honestly say I LOVE these insoles and will be purchasing a pair for my husband who is still in the restaurant business and has constant foot pain and back pain. I personally found myself unconciously sort of rocking my feet a little when standing still, just so I could feel that "massaging" action on my feet!

BUY IT: Did I mention that HappyFeet insoles are 100% made in the USA and that they come with a one year warranty? You can purchase a pair for $39.95 at www.happyfeet.net or by calling 1-800-462-8677.

WIN IT: One of my readers is going to get to try their very own pair of HappyFeet insoles! (my husband is extremely jealous of you!)

Clean Screen & Little Clean Screen Review

It seems every which way we turn these days we are surrounded by electronics, everything from phones to televisions to GPS devices and computer screens. These newer, more advanced gadgets are not like the giant hulking televisions or computer monitors of "old". Using Windex to get the dust off is a giant No No!

"Scott's Liquid Gold, a trusted name in household care for nearly 60 years, developed Clean Screen and Little Clean Screen Wipes to end the confusion about how to safely clean valuable electronic screens".

Clean screen is formulated with RO (reverse osmosis) Solution. A state of the art water treatment technology which takes molecules of mineral deposits and other impurities out of the water molecule itself.

I new my computer monitor was dirty and it was driving me crazy, but until I actually turned it off and took a picture of it, with the flash showing me HOW dirty it was, I had no clue!
The bottle of Little Clean I received came with a soft synthetic suede micro fiber cloth. Instructions told me to spray 1-2 times for smaller areas, 3-4 for larger. Cloth should be damp, not wet. I'll let you judge the results for yourself:

Wow, right? I feel like I got a brand new monitor!

I also received a 12 pack of "Little" Clean Screen wipes. They are individually wrapped and great for keeping in your purse, glove box or work desk. You can use them to clean your phone, glasses, sunglasses, iPod or what ever else you can think of. Best part is they are biodegradable.

BUY IT: You can purchase a bottle of Little Clean Screen for $7.99 or the box of 12 "Little" Clean Screen for $2.99 by going to http://www.scottsliquidgold.com/clean-screen/

Interested in learning more about Liquid Gold or Clean Screen? You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter

Help!

I need a little help if anyone is able or knows someone, or even knows someone who knows someone.

I really want to get a couple of touch ups done on my blog. Little things, but I can't seem to figure out how to do them on my own.

My page list thingy is all squished together....and it drives me nuts! How can I make them unsquish? (ya, I know that isn't a technical term....so shoot me) I am sick of them all looking like one big run together word.

2md thing is I would really like to have a favicon and yeah....that is way beyond my current brain cell quota...nothing fancy, maybe one of the paw prints from my page?

3rd thing---Possibly cleaning up my "Where I am" box. Does that box seem like it needs fixed to anyone or am I just being nit picky?

Anyway, I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have. Either on who can help me or how to make my blog more user friendly!

It's been a heck of a week

I haven't been linking up with Boobies, Babies and a Blog & My Mad Mind lately for their Fawk You Friday....for no other reason than I mostly a moron. I think of things through out the week and say "that would be great to write about" and since I don't make myself a note Friday comes and I find myself wondering what the heck I was actually planning to write about.

This week however..........this week was doosy.

A Giant Fawk You goes out to Mother Nature. She is out to get me I swear.

Monday morning at 6 am, February 14th and the temperature is in the 30's. I stumble into the bathroom and as I am blearily staring at the wall I finally focus my gaze enough to realize that those little black dots all over my shower are ants. ANTS. IN FEBRUARY.
Now rats, snakes, bats...those don't bother me but even typing the word ANTS gives me the creepy crawlies.  I've sprayed them, I've smooshed them, I've put out ant bait traps and yet I keep finding them.  WTF?

Mother Nature again: It has been 46 freaking days since my last period. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Do you have any idea of the pent up PMS and Bloating I have going on right now? And no, I am NOT pregnant--3 tests have confirmed that.

And a Final Fawk goes to my bank. I stop to get money out of the ATM, apparently it's a brand spanking new one. Apparently a schmuck installed it, because when I tried to get my card out it was more than apparent that it wasn't aligned correctly. The card would come out a 1/4 inch, hit the lip of the machine and suck back in until naturally it just kept my card.  As I am driving down the road I have hubby dial and hand me the phone so I can report it. I answer all the security questions and then she asks for my account number. Tell hubby to read it to me. She says "I'm sorry ma'am I can't help you if I hear someone else read the number to you." WHAT? I'm driving. On a Road. In a moving vehicle. How exactly would you like me to read the account number from my checkbook while doing that? "I'm sorry ma'am. I can't help you. You will have to call back later"  Are you kidding me? My card is stuck in a machine and I don't know if someone else is going to get lucky enough to access my account. "Have a nice day ma'am." Click.

Call said bank next day during business hours (she giggles and says alot of cards got eaten..duh) and ask if I can send husband in to retrieve card for me. Nope. Even though he is a joint holder on the account I have to go. By 4pm or they will destroy my card and it will take 10 days to get a new one. (but I work til 5).......Needless to say this isn't the first time I have had problems with this bank but it will be the last. Goodbye Charter One. I switched. To a really nice bank with a really nice lady who let me open a joint checking and savings account over the phone. She gave me free checks, free overdraft and free use of ANY ATM in the US.

Pshew! sorry that was so long but boy did I need to rant about that.....before I go home and kill more ants...in my shower.....I may never be able to relax in the shower again......

Bourdreaux's Butt Paste

This post brought to you by Boudreaux's Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

Most of you know I haven't been able to have kids of my own, but that doesn't mean I don't have some experience! My friends all have kids, mostly infants to toddlers and I usually have at least one if not both of my nieces on the weekends. In light of all this, I find it is way more practical to stock baby and toddler items at my house, since inevitably someone forgets something.

Trying to be a good friend and Aunt, I have asked some Mom's in the know what products they find work the best. The one that was most consistent is Boudreaux's Butt Paste.

So I did my own research and found out that Boudreaux's Butt Paste® was specifically formulated by a pharmacist with direction from a respected pediatrician to provide effective diaper rash care. It has been featured on the Oprah Show, Tonight Show, Today Show, People Magazine, ESPN and While You Were Out on TLC! Quite the impressive resume!
My 1 year  old niece seems to always have a red bum so I made sure to pick some of this up and it works like a charm on her! Some of the things I like most about Boudreaux's Butt Paste  include that it goes on and off easily, comes with a convenient flip top cap, has a pleasant scent and actually treats diaper rash as it protects the skin!
It comes in 1oz, 2oz, 3oz, 4 oz tubes and a 16oz jar. So whether you are just the sitter and want to have it on hand, are a momma that needs some for a diaper bag, or have lot's of little bums at home, there is a convenient size for you!
Make sure you visit Boudreaux's Butt Paste and get a free sample! Scroll down and look at the bottom left side of the page!

Tagged! 1 Truth, 4 Lies!

Who else but my crazy buddy Boobies @ Boobies, Babies and a Blog would tag me and hook me up with this crazy but adorable award? Isn't she da'bomb?
Anywho, this is what is going down. I have to share five things about myself with you lucky ducks. The only catch is that only 1 is true and the the other 4 are just some random items the voices in my head told me to say.

1.I once sleep walked (slept walked?) out my front door in my underwear
2. I keep one of those airplane size bottles of booze in my work desk at all times in case of emergancies
3. I am a natural 38 F
4. I never swear, I feel that it is unladylike
5.I have four dogs, 2 parakeets, a ferret and a 20 gallon fish tank

Of course I have to go ahead and give a couple of other peeps the chance to tell some outrageous lies about themselves too.....Babe's Rockin Mami, Melbie and Masshole Mommy, you have been tagged!

Now...how well do you know me?

I signed up with a company called Social Spark in July of 2010. Sign up takes about 5 minutes. You give them your blog info, email address and answer a couple questions. They send me an email when I have a "lead". I log in and check out what the sponsor would like, how much they offer and I choose if I want the assignment or not.

The assignments are normally very easy, around 200 words minimum and link or two.

The best part is THEY PAY YOU to do what you already do....Blog. You don't have to pitch anyone, which rocks! You also are not required to take an opp...it's entirely up to you.

Tropical Traditions Moisturizing Lotion Review & Giveaway

I have reviewed several products from Tropical Traditions in the past, but this is the first time I have tried one of the items from their skin care line. I have always been impressed with their other products so was quite anxious to see how this one would live up to my expectations.

Naturally, all of the moisturizing lotions from Tropical Traditions are made with their organic Virgin Coconut Oil and Virgin Palm Oil, the finest bases on the market today and contain high levels of anti oxidants:

Virgin Palm Oil contains high concentrations of a powerful form of Vitamin E called “tocotrienols” which published research has shown is 40–60 times more potent than alpha-tocopherol (the most common form of Vitamin E found as an additive in most skin care products.) In addition to these powerful Vitamin E tocotrienols, Virgin Palm Oil is also rich in natural carotenes. It is one of the richest natural plant sources of carotenes with concentrations of 500–700 ppm. It is 15 times more retinol-equivalent than carrots and 300 times more than tomatoes, for example.
I received an 8oz bottle of the Moisturizing Lotion in the Baby Silk scent. I don't know why, but the first thing I always do is sniff any type of lotion....I guess I don't care how good it works if the smell doesn't appeal to me. It's times like these I wish I could put a scratch and sniff sticker in the post....the scent is very appealing but hard to describe. For me it seems reminds me of a cross between that wonderful clean baby smell and a high end spa. If that scent doesn't appeal to you, no big deal, you can choose from Lavender, Unscented, Citrus, Peppermint or Arnica.

As you can see in the picture, it comes out of the bottle very thick, so it isn't glopping all over the place. The great thing is though, that unlike some thick moisturizers it seems to just melt right into your skin very easily so you aren't rubbing and rubbing to try to get it to absorb.

I really enjoy the bottle I received, it's perfect for my moisture deprived winter skin!

BUY IT: You can purchase an 8oz bottle of Moisturizing Lotion from Tropical Traditions for $14.99 to $15.99 depending on the scent you choose.

WIN IT: One of my readers is going to win a full sized bottle of Moisturizing Lotion of their own.

Instapeel Review

Product Description
The Instantpeel Natural Exfoliant is one of the most exciting, powerful yet gentle products on the market that is polluted with goods that promise beauty heaven, but deliver just a big price tag. This peel sticks to its promises, for a fraction of the money one would spend in a beauty salon. Instantpeel is easy to use while taking a shower. it is amazing how smoothly dead skin peels off without irritating healthy skin layers. After the short treatment, the skin feels soft and silky with a radiant complexion. I highly recommend Instantpeel to every one who desires younger and healthier looking facial skin.
I remember when I was younger, thinking that 35 was old.....well, now I am 35 (don't tell please) and I refuse to think of myself as old. I try to keep my skin looking as young and healthy as possible without my husband figuring out just how much that little tiny jar of whatever cost me.

Instantpeel is a natural alternative to a glycolic acid peel & dermabrasion, made instead with a combination of natural enzymes. It is also safe for all but the most sensitive skin.

I have to say I was a little skeptical when I say the small packets that it comes in, but don't let them fool you. There is plenty to get the job done in each packet and this way you won't over use and waste product.
Instantpeel is different than any other product I have tried. You take your packet in the shower with you and let your skin "steam" for five minutes, while you are washing your hair, shaving or what not. Then after five minutes you open your packet and place some in your hand, careful, it is a thin milky type product and you don't want to waste. Next your just gently massage it into your face and neck.

I remember my first packet, looking at the "milky" liquid and thinking "yeah right". HA! I was amazed when little "peels" of skin started coming of my chin line immediately! It didn't burn, smell or irritate me and because the enzymes only recognize dead skin you can't over process or burn your "new" skin, when you stop peeling you know to stop rubbing! I even used a bit on my elbows because they are so dry and rough!

You can learn more about Instantpeel at http://www.instantpeel.com/instant_peel.html.
