AquaNotes Review & Giveaway

" AquaNotes® are made of waterproof paper that is totally recyclable, environmentally friendly, and non-toxic. Each pencil is water resistant and is made with Incense Cedar wood, a responsibly harvested renewable resource meeting stringent environmental requirements. Even the ink used to print the logo and company information on the notepad is soy based.

The product is designed to withstand exposure to wet environments. Water simply beads up and rolls off AquaNotes. Each 3.5 by 5.25 inch pad has 40 sheets of paper and each sheet is perforated for easy removal. AquaNotes easily and quickly attaches to any smooth surface with two suction cups that are secured with a stem-based cap. Pencils are secured with a suction cup pencil holder that provides convenient access whenever the need arises to write down an idea while you’re in the shower.
AquaNotes pads, pencils, and all its components are entirely made and assembled in the USA."
If you are anything like me, you always think up something that you need to do, buy, somewhere you need to go or something you need to tell someone smack dab in the middle of your shower. Then by the time you get out, dry off, yada- yada you totally forget that you had that epiphany until your kid is asking if you washed their special outfit and the dog is staring at an empty food bowl. That's where AquaNotes come into play! You can easily write down anything that pops into your shampoo covered head right that second! Since I have had my AquaNotes in my shower I have not composed any great works of poetry, but I have finally remembered to buy Ziploc bags and yes, dog food.The hubby and I have even left each other a couple of "messages".

In my honest opinion this is a simple, yet genius product! The suction cups make it non permanent and it won't damage your shower, heck, you could even more these around or take them with you when you travel! Each pad has 40 sheets and runs $6.99 or you could purchase a 5 pack for $27.95. The holidays are coming and these would be great gifts for co-workers or even stocking stuffers!

BUY IT
AquaNotes Waterproof Notepad with pencil and suction cup pencil holder can be purchase HERE for $6.99 or you can buy 4 get 1 free!

WIN IT
The folks at AquaNotes have graciously agreed to send one of my lucky readers with their very own waterproof pad, pencil and pencil holder!

Monday

Hi Everyone! Monday again. They seem to come so quickly, especially since I only had Sunday off this past week! If you notice, there have been some "decoration" changes around the blog. I hope you like them and will be happy to share the lovely lady who is helping me out after we are all finished, she is a super great person who just so happens to have a TON going on right now so it's going to take a bit, but we will get there eventually! In the mean time, please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions, likes or dislikes!

Any-get-back-to-the-reason-for-this-post-in-the-first-place, this is the first week that Happily a Law Mama is hosting the Monday Minute and even though it's kinda late in the day I am hooking up!
I can't seem to add her button because blogger currently hates my guts and will not let me add any pictures. WHY BLOGGER? WHY?

Oh yeah, the questions:
What’s the last restaurant you went to and what did you order?
I stopped at Jimmy's Italian Foods & Deli and picked my mom and up some sandwiches on my way home (ehh, the hubby was home eating wings on the couch, he didn't starve-but I did come close to strangling him)
I ordered the Italian Delight~ Prosciutto, Salami, Provolone & hot peppers on homemade bread.

What's your greatest phobia?
That is a toss up between drowning (I panic in the water) and bugs. I loathe bugs

On a scale of 1 to 10, how hot are you?
I stay away from scales....all of them

You just found out you (or your partner) are having a baby.  What's your reaction?
My reaction? Amazement, incredible joy, crying....after trying for more than four years I imagine I would run the gamut but I can guarantee there would crying....probably huge gulping sobs

You just won a free vacation to anywhere in the world.  Where would you go?
If I am taking the hubby? A SWEET cabin in the Smokey Mountains....we love it there and haven't been able to afford to go in a long time. If I can take anyone? My mom~ we have both always wanted to see Europe. Italy where her grandparents came from, Scotland, Ireland, England. Just  a great giant tour to see all the places we read about

Saucy Salad

Have you entered the Saucy Mama Giveaway yet?  I don't know why you would have! These are some kick butt gourmet products! Just today I was putting together a pasta salad when I realized I had none of the usual Italian dressing to put on it, so instead I pulled out my Garlic Parmesean from Saucy Mama. Now I have a killer pasta salad with a little zing to it. WAY better than the norm!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Calling all ladies! A week ago I was lucky enough to receive a package of products from Lipo In a Box and boy howdy, do I ever have the scoop for you! I used to be a thin sexy lady, unfortunately between switching to a desk job, taking a whole slew of fertility drugs and hitting my 30's....well let's just say that it caught up to me. I am very self conscious about how I look and was thrilled to be able to try out some stuff from Lipo In a Box to help me with my self image! (yeah, yeah, beauty is on the inside and all that, but we all like to look our best right?
The first item I'm going to talk about is the Firm Control Camisole  (I received black). I was really thrilled to give this a shot, because most of my extra pudge hangs out in my stomach area. I was happy that it did such a great job of controlling my "rolls"  and the material was very breathable, unlike other items I have tried in the past and it was plenty long enough to tuck into my jeans and not ride up. The only thing I didn't like is that no way, no how did my "girls" fit in the underwire cups. I have always been blessed with an abundance up top and they were smooshing out the the sides of the cups. NOT the fault of Lipo In a Box at all, just the fault of genetics. *sigh*
PhotobucketThe next item I'm going to tell you about is the "Lisa Marie" Go2 Bra. Remember me saying I had big boobs? If you are in the same boat then you know exactly how hard it is to find a bra that fits, holds the girls up and doesn't look as if it could double as a horse harness. Well when I was looking at the items from Go2 Bra's and Panties I think I actually started jumping up and down in my desk chair when I saw they had bra's...in my size....that looked adorable! So I tore into that box, hand washed it, hung it to dry and wore it the next morning. I normally wear either a 38 or 40 DDD and was sent a 40. "Lisa Marie" fits like someone made her just for me! After several wearings I am as much in love as ever. The bra lifts the girls back to my twenties and keeps them there all day! I am so not kidding when I say it's gorgeous, I was at my mothers and flashed her a peak because I wanted to show SOMEONE and the hubby was at work! I will be purchasing more bras from Go2 Bra!
Another thing heredity, bad sinus's and very little sleep have blessed me with is dark circles under my eyes. I have tried products from here to China trying to get rid of them without seeing much in the way of results. EYE GIVE UP is a product from Underology Skin Care.
This is supposed to reduce the puffiness and dark under eye circles, enhancing the firmness of the skin and protecting from UV damage. Since I am a crazy kind of person I have been applying it to one eye only, am & pm. It has only been a week and I swear I seen a minor difference in color already. As a matter of fact I am pretty sure it worked immediately on the puffiness since I went to work the other day and my 65 year old boss told me the one side of my face looked swollen and it just so happens that is the opposite side of the one I am using the serum on! I love that it only takes the barest drop to gently cover your entire under eye and there is no discernible fragrance!
BUY IT
You can purchase any of the items that I reviewed plus a whole lot more at Lipo In a Box.
The great thing is that you can find all these brands on one website! Lipo In a Box is truly one stop shopping! Make sure you keep an eye on QVC too, as many of these products are featured on my favorite shopping channel!
For the next 30 days Lipo In a Box is offering my readers a 15% discount code, good for anything on their site! Just enter Lipoblog in the discount box!
WIN IT
Lipo In a Box has been awesome enough to offer one of my readers their very own full sized Eye Give Up serum, a $32 value!
ThermaFuse ForMatte Firm Paste Review & Giveaway
Just in case you were not aware of it, ThermaFuse has an awesome new styling product out on the market; ForMatte Paste.
PURPOSE: A creamy lightweight styling paste to create extreme texture and intense hold with a dry super matte finish.
FUNCTION: ForMatte gets a firm grip on your hair. Shape and mold to stay...inside the lines optional. Max out on texture with  powerful definition and separation or pump up the volume with relentless lift and hold. I remains pliable with re-workable control all day allowing you to reinvent your look as many times as you like.
PROFESSIONAL TIP: For added volume, apply a small amount to slightly damp roots and blow dry.
TO USE: Apply to slightly damp or dry hair. Begin with one pump of ForMatte and rub in hands. Work into hair, creating definition, separation and lift. Layer in additional ForMatte for increased texture and hold.
KEY INGREDIENTS:
Teak Wood Extract- Naturally obtained from the sapwood of the Tectona Grandis it's oleoresin content delivers maximum hold and longevity to the overall shape and style.
Mahogany Wood Extract- Naturally obtained from the sapwood of the Khaya Senegalensis. Rich in polyphenols it improves tensile strength while protecting and repairing hair from harmful UV rays and heat styling
Shea Butter- Rich in Vitamin F and essential fatty acids, it naturally softens and moisturizes the hair and scalp with long lasting effects. Contains healing and protective properties that smooth the cuticle to eliminate frizz.
NATURAL: Certified Organic essences are harvested from sustainable managed forests certified by Smartwood. Sustainable development is a means of harmonizing social and economic development with the protection and preservation of the environment for future generations. Not artificial color.
(all information in italicized writing has been quoted from the ThermaFuse fact sheet I received with product)
For the purpose of my review, I received a full size 2.5oz bottle of the ForMatte firm paste. With long naturally curly hair, I am always looking for a good product to help my keep my curls and not be so frizzy I look like I stuck a for in an electric socket! However, I have always been leery of pastes thinking that they were for people who had crazy "do's" and spiky looks.  So with some trepidation I pumped a little into my hands and rubbed them together. The first thing I noticed was the smell. Absolutely edible! It is an amazing Blackberry Vanilla Musk and I wish I had a lotion that smelled half as yummy!
You can use on slightly damp or dry hair and I have tried both. We had a 90 degree week this past week so I was trying french braids and ponytails except I always end with those random wispys that fall out and drive me bonkers. I just smoothed some ForMatte on the sides of my head and a little on the top and my hair stayed put all day without looking as if someone shellacked it to my skull! A+   I have also used it in my curls to give them more spring. My favorite by far, is to use it in my hair, blow dry and flat iron. I get a gorgeous, sleek look and have the added bonus of knowing that the product is also protecting my hair from heat damage!
WIN IT:
Three of my readers are going to win a full size bottle of ForMatte to try for themselves!
Scandle Candle Shimmering Lotion Candle Review
I am personally both a candle nut and a scented lotion junkie, so when I was offered the opportunity to review the new Shimmering Lotion Candle from Scandle Candle you can bet I said YES and then did a little happy dance!
In case you aren't already familiar with Scandle Candle, they make delicious smelling spa quality candles and aromatherapy massage oil all rolled into one enticing package.
The Scandle Body Massage Candle is a fragrant hand-poured body massage candle that, when burned, melts to create a healthy body massage oil that can be used to enhance the healthy of your skin. Not only, is The Scandle Body Massage Candle healthy for your skin, but it is also healthy for the environment...emitting less soot and toxins into the environment than parrafin candles.
For my review I received a travel tin of the Copa Cabana scent, which is a reusable tin that has an eco friendly bracelet around it to keep your fingers from getting too warm or slipping when you pour the melted wax. After the tin is empty you have a bracelet AND a storage tin!
First off, I can just hear some of you thinking, ouch! Who'd want to pour hot wax on their skin? Well it isn't like that, Scandle Candle burns two degrees above body temperature, so you simply light the candle and let the scent permeate the room, then when it has liquefied to the edge of the container you pour a small amount  and massage into your skin.
Since I was more interested in the shimmering effects and figured those would be hard to see on my back I treated myself to a soak in the tub with the scent of Copa Cabana filling the room. After luxuriating in the tub I toweled off, blew out the candle and proceeded to massage the liquid into my arms and legs! It was absolutely heavenly, closest thing to spa trip I'm going to be seeing for now!
The Shimmering Lotion was not greasy at all, rubbing into to my skin very well and leaving a silky softness behind. Best of all was the subtle shimmer. I admit I was a tad worried that I would be looking like a teenager covered with glitter, but this was totally not the case at all! I am definitely going to have to invest in one of the Refillable Ceramic Containers and I NEED the Scandle Hand or Feet Treatment Packs
You don't just have to take my word for it either! This wonderful candle has also been seen in IN Shape Magazine, MarieClaire.com and more!
BUY IT: You can purchase the exact same travel tin of the Shimmering Lotion Candle for $13.95 HERE
**Disclaimer: I received a travel tin candle for my honest opinion.
Hair Flairs Review
Have you heard of Hair Flairs? If you love to do different things with your hair but hate to the damage that dying and heat cause then Hair Flairs is definitely something you need to check out! They are do it yourself hair tinsel that add sparkly and color to your hair without damaging it.
"Hair Flairs - Pro Hair Tinsel - Individual strands that tie-into hair at the root. The strands add sparkle, color, and metallic highlights to hair. You can shampoo, blow-dry, and style your hair like normal. You can even use a curling-iron or flat-iron up to 400 degrees F. They will last anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks depending on the strength of the knot. Hair Flairs carries 19 colors that go from bold trendy colors to complementary colors. They are great for every day and special occasions and add a little touch of flair to your hair."
I received one package of gold and one package of blue and recruited my very eager 10 year old niece to be my Guinea pig! I watched the video and read the instructions and went to work on her. I had a little bit of trouble at first but once I got the hang of it they were super easy to get in her hair and the result was adorable! I think these are great for pre teens that want so badly to do grown up stuff but really aren't old enough to have highlights and such. I also think they are great for adults that want a splash of color and sparkly, whether it's for a night on the town or just to feel pretty! Since you wash, dry and style your hair normally Hair Flairs don't get in the way of your normal routine! I promised that I would let her use the blue ones for Halloween (mostly because 5th grade does not really appreciate blue bling as much as I do!)
Take a second to watch the video and see how simple these are to put in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rrj2i1jAExM
BUY IT: You can purchase Hair Flairs at www.hairflairs.com in a dazzling variety of colors. Prices start at $10 for a package of 60 36" strands.
Gizmo Gear IPhone Case- Review & Giveaway
I came across Gizmo Gear when I was searching for a new case for my IPhone and loved what I saw. Lucky for me they agreed to sponsor a review and giveaway on my blog.
I received a purple case for an IPhone 3Gs and the hard case belt clip and credit card holders, including a neck lanyard. The silicone that makes up the case is buttery soft and yet 3x thicker than other brands. This really sets my mind at ease for those times when I drop my phone (and unfortunately that is frequently!) The other great thing is that the case covers all the ports and buttons. They are still easy to get to, just move the silicone piece to the side and pop on your charger or ear buds, but protected from the environment when not in use.
I can also easily pop the entire thing into either just a belt clip (which I like to hang on the inside of my purse to keep my phone in place instead of on my belt). OR I can pop it into the wallet case. This is so great if you don't want to carry around a purse. It will easily slide onto a waist band or can be hooked on the neck lanyard that is included. Then the back has a little compartment that you can put your debit card, ID or even a couple bucks in! These cases come in a variety of colors and are also made for the IPhone 4. As matter of fact the ones on the website for the IPhone 4 look so cool that I am now dying to upgrade my phone just so I can order one! They even have an IPhone 3GS case with a built in bottle opener for those of you planning to party!
BUY IT
You can purchase your own IPhone 3gs or I4 cases online HERE. You can buy just the outer clip separately or the whole shebang for around $19.99 and right now they have $1.00 shipping. This is a great deal for such a high quality case!
WIN IT
The totally awesome folks at Gizmo Gear have offered to send one of my readers a case of their very own. You can choose between the I4 and the IPhone 3GS.
Saucy Mama Review & Giveaway
"It takes a real stickler in the kitchen to make products this consistently tasty. And that’s mom. She won’t rest until every family member declares her latest taste sensation the most delicious sauce, marinade, cocktail onion, olive, or mustard they’ve ever tasted. And even then she’ll try to make it better."
Cooking and food has always been a big part of my life. My mom and her mom are Italian and it seems like I grew up in a kitchen. Nowadays my tastes have grown, especially since I married a cook. We are always looking to try something new, so I was thrilled when I contacted Saucy Mama (Barhyte Foods) and they agreed to sponsor a review and a giveaway.
I received a more than generous package containing the following Saucy Mama Products:
Let me just say, both the husband and I have some seriously happy taste buds! We both work alot in the summer and tend to do way more cooking in the winter when things slow down, but no way were we going to wait to use these babies!
I happened to have some fresh veggies, picked up at my local farm, on hand when my Saucy Mama came in the mail so I decided to use them to test out the Parmesan Garlic Marinade. I steamed my green beans then mixed them with some cubed potatoes. I poured enough Parmesan Garlic to coat them, gave it a good stir and baked them. First off, just opening the Marinade was enough to make my mouth water, it smell so good. The finished product was divine! It's an amazing blend of Parmesan cheese and garlic (which I adore) that has a surprising zing to it! I can think of so many other things to use this with!
Next up we used the Cracked Pepper on both wings and a roast. The wings, my hubby just tossed in the marinade and baked. YUM! The roast I let marinade over night in the fridge then cooked in the crock pot with potatoes and carrots. It's a mouthwatering, tangy pepper flavor that leaves craving more and my roast was so tender it fell apart with the touch of a spoon!
I have used the Sesame Ginger on a grilled chicken salad and it just may be my new favorite dressing. The mustards are spectacular. Hubby has taken to putting Champagne & Honey on one slice of bread and Chipotle on the other for an explosion of flavor. I know it isn't very gourmet to admit this but I have been using the Champagne & Honey on those microwave soft pretzels and must may be addicted! I haven't tasted the Lime Chipotle yet, but there are some pork chops marinating right now and the smell promises wonderful things! This Mama is going to have to do some shopping because I am dying to try the Saucy Mama Smokey Garlic Mustard (love garlic!), the Saucy Mama's Raspberry Vinaigrette and the Saucy Mama Spicy Garlic Wing Sauce (are you seeing the pattern here?).
Saturday Six
BWS tips button
It's time for Saturday 6 again, with the lovely Jana @ Boobies, Babies & a Blog and her totally awesome co-hostess Ashlee @ The Zombie Housewife. If you haven't played before, it's easy. They hook us up with six questions that will most likely make you blush at least once. You answer and link up! Easy as shooting fish in a barrel!
(doing six shots is optional, but don't worry I wait til later to hit the bottle)
1. If you could break one law for the rest of your life and not get arrested, which law would you choose to break & get away with?
 Errmmm.....there happen to be lots of laws that are well worth breaking, but I gotta say robbing a bank (a BIG bank) would make me one happy camper.
2.If you wrote a book based on your life, what would be the most "shocking" revelation you made in the book about yourself or something you had done?
I don't consider myself all that shocking....but let's see. I've done drugs (not recently so shut up)....
I married a man 17 years older than me, that my parents had never met (they refused to) and we have been married for 12 years now. I've made out with another girl.  Is that shocking enough? cuz it's all I got
3.Has reading a book ever changed your life?  Which one and why, if yes? Not a particular book, but I would say ALL books. My mother instilled a love of reading in me and I voracsiously read whatever I can get my hands on to this day. Each book changes my life for a little bit because I am part of that world and those characters are real to me while I'm reading it.
4.Where were you on 9/11/01? I was driving down the freeway from Windsor CT to Holyoke Mass where I worked. I used to hate news on the radio in the am and kept changing the channel looking for music when it finally penetrated my sleep deprived brain that something was going on. It was minutes after the first tower was hit....I walked into work and the hubby met in the office (he was a kitchen manager and I was Front of house for the same Restaraunt). I went right to the bar and turned on the TV's and all of our staff just stood there. They closed the entire Holyoke Mall and we went home and stared in horror at the TV.
5.Should marijuana be legalized?  Why or why not? Yes. Oh don't get all up in my shit. A)it does have valid medical uses. If I could have given it to my grandmother when she was dying of cancer you bet your ass I would have. I wish I could get my mother to smoke it to when her lupus is really bad, her joints are so swollen and she can't sleep or eat. B)Besides the fact that yes I have smoked it, not in recent years but I can honestly say never did anything worse high than I have drunk and never had a hangover from it. C) Just like anything else, if you over use or abuse something you are an idiot. You can take vicoden for a backache, be a little loopy and it's ok. You can also take vicoden all day everyday and then you are just an addict and an asshole.
Saying all that, there should be restrictions and laws, just like with any other substance.
6.Would you have a threesome if you significant other wanted to? Yeah, if I agreed upon the other person.
Some Fave Products
I have a couple of favorite, I love them and would die without them products that I just wanted to share. I am in no way being paid for this, have not received samples of these to review. I adore them and want to share with you! Any photo on this page has been taken from the brand page itself and linked back to them. I take no credit for the photography
I used to be an Avon Rep and one of the items I discovered was the Planet Spa Mediterranean Olive Oil Conditioning Hair Mask (isn't that a mouthful!) This comes in a squeeze tube and is very thick. I use it about once a week. After washing my hair instead of conditioner I spread about a 50 cent piece (I have ALOT of hair) over my entire head and let it sit while I shave my legs, exfoliate or what have you. At least 3-5 minutes, then rinse and I swear to God, my curly hair is so soft I can finger comb it. The scent is very light, like a scent you would smell in a higher end spa. LOVE IT. It is usually around $4.50 per tube, depending on sales and what have you.
The second item is one that I won several months ago from a blog giveaway. I absolutely adore this product and after I ran out I purchased another bottle. The Sibu Repair & protect sea buckthorn facial cream is divine. I have combination skin and at times my chin, nose and between my eyebrows becomes so dry it flakes. After having used many MANY facial creams I have finally found one that is perfect. It has a light citrus scent, is thick enough that it doesn't run but not so creamy you need a spatula. I swear that my face just drinks this in. My skin absorbs it quickly, there is no greasiness and best of all I haven't had a dry patch in months. I will cry if I cannot have this item!
The last item I am going to mention is the Clinique High Lengths Mascara. I received a sample of this in the gift with purchase. I took one look at the little bitty fine tooth comb applicator and said forget it, I'm going to hate it. Wrong! I adore it. It is curved just enough to do a good job and the tiny bristles are genius. They make it so easy to get those little short eyelashes and even the corners. Again, this is another product that I went back and bought a full size of. I simply cannot imagine using a bulky brush ever again.
